Ability to Rename Batch

for high volume shipping this would be a HUGE improvement. Since this was opened in 2014 I'm wondering if Shipstation can comment on whether they have any plans to implement this?

Hi @hm, thanks for checking in on this one. We're still reviewing renaming batches. Can you tell us more about how your batches are sorted and how you would like to rename them?

I batch things according to the type of items ordered, or what packaging they'll fit into. For example, I create one batch for posters that will be shipped in tubes, one for prints that ship in rigid mailers, one for small items that ship in bubble mailers, etc. I may also batch according to the specific product (if all orders are posters, have a batch for each different poster), whatever seems to make sense at the time to streamline my packaging process. I usually have a lot of batches open at once since there are many variables that are always changing depending on what I'm selling, and currently I have to have a text document open on my computer to tell me what batch number is which type of item, since I can't just rename the batch!

exactly the same as I mentioned before and as Catherine1 has mentioned, when we are sorting products, we are sorting them in our minds by the NAME of the products, not a NUMBER of a batch. We literally have to memorize which number represents which batch, every single day. If we could append the batch number with a word or simply rename it, it would drastically improve the quality of life.

Seriously ShipStation, is it really that hard to add this feature? 4 years people are waiting for this? The continued canned response “tell us how you would use the feature” is tired and old. It’s pretty straightforward and obvious how useful this feature would be.

This would be great... we customize plaque , but want to assign batches ( and label them ahead of time) ... So when the order are finished, we can print the labels at one time for a SHIPPING PRESET. We just want a simple name so we can keep all the batches in order..

We would use the batches feature much more if this was implemented. The numbered batches get very confusing very quick

This feature has been requested almost 4 years ago with over a 100 votes. It still can not be a matter of reviewing. Please give us the ability to rename the batch.. random batch numbers mean nothing - we constantly have to open up the batches to see what is in what batch. Even the last response was over a year ago from Shipstation. Let's get going please!!!

has this been implemented yet? The ability to simply rename our batches after creating them so we can sort what is for what? I would like to just be able to click on the batch name to edit it so I can title it "Wayfair" or "Overstock" or "Groupon", etc... Can we get this going? It seems many people have the same issue with sorting orders.

We use batches to sort and store backordered orders. It would be EXTREMELY convenient to quickly assign the order to the batch with the name of the backordered item. For example, if we have 5 products out of stock, it would be FAR more convenient to have five batches named as MUG LG-AIR SEELEY-BOOK or BEEHIVE-19 rather than just numbers. If you have a large number of batches ongoing to store backordered orders, selecting the right one based on number is counterintuitive. Very much looking forward to this functionality.

We use batches to ship out reshipments. It would be so much easier for us to type it the date of the batches so we know which ones we have worked on. And after these new batches have been completely we would rename it "Done" so the other department would know that the batch has been completed and can then delete it. It would make our life so much easier instead of having to go through every batch and remember if we have done it or not.

Is the feature available yet to rename batches?
