Please add the ability to edit customer information. This is very frustrating.

  • September 25, 2020
I second this motion. Shipstation - Update your design so that your customers can edit customer information directly. This is a simple ask

Agree - 100%. And, I have requested this in the past. Asking again! The ability to make changes only via delimited files is really ridiculous. A simple typo in a manually entered order costs quite a bit of time to correct, if you don't have a template file ready to go for the delimited requirement. I spent 30 years in software development and User feedback and UIX (User Interface Experience) is key to keeping customers happy and this change is extremely simple. SHIPSTATION: Put a happy face on us and make this change!

Please add this feature! It is necessary for business owners and customer service reps to make changes to the customer list. Thank you!

Please help @shipstation!

'+1 request to this feature!! Quite frustrating we can't easily change or update customer information.

I am so frustrated. I need to be able to easily change an incorrect shipping address, or at least delete an old customer from the database. I am having trouble keeping up with address changes, and my customers are furious with me. Please help!

We have just found out about this "bug" after we shipped a large quantity of products to the wrong address. Even after we manually changed the address, it still replaced the address with one of a similar name. Unacceptable! Please fix this ASAP!

  • November 16, 2020
<<>> I TOTALLY AGREE, BUT THIS IS NOT A "BUG". I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS, AND SS FAILS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

★ ★ ★ HOW TO EDIT CUSTOMER DATA ★ ★ ★ I have noticed that this has been an issue for other ShipStation customers since at least 2016 and I also know that it is technically not a bug. But since the system replaced what I manually typed into ShipStation twice, as far as I am concerned, it is a "bug". At the very least, this should be made absolutely clear at some point during the process, so we all could have avoided this issue in the first place. I wasted a full day trying to resolve the issue on my end, so hopefully the following information will help someone out and save them some time. What I have learned: ★ Export Raw Customer Data even though it may not contain all customers: bit.ly/3nzfp9K ★ Add customer records via CSV, using the email as the username: bit.ly/36TWtvQ ★ Combine customer records on the 'All Customers' page after updating customer records via CSV because import seems to work unreliably. ★ Verify shipping addresses more than once, even when you are in a hurry!

the need to be able to change a single customer's address without having to use csv files, UPS and the the others carries can do it immediately this is a fundamental and basic operation, please fix this issue. we cannot keep in mind which customers moved and keep changing their address manually!

New user to ShipStation and this is not the first, second, or third time I've come across an issue then looked it up here in support to find it's been unresolved for years. My issue (so far) is customers mistype their email address so they don't receive shipment notifications. I can't simply correct their email address and resend notification. I've had two examples of this in the last week. One person typed examplecustomer@gmailST.com and another examplecustomer@yahol.com Obviously, I just remove "ST" from the Gmail address and change "@yahol.com" to "@yahoo.com." Unfortunately, it's nowhere near that easy or even possible. Do I really have to download example .CSV, manually re-input all customer info, correct the email address, import the .CSV and then combine customers? Please no...

Hello all. Here's what I'm doing to work around. I've created a google form called "Shipstation Address Fix". The form requests all of the needed information: Name, email, address, order #, etc. Then, set up a Zap (zapier.com) that triggers an order whenever a google sheet is updated. When the form is filled out, a shipstation order is created with the new customer information. I can then combine customer records to update the customer. Until SS gets this figured out, this is better than the other option. If you need any help setting it up, lmk. davidlawrencethompson@gmail.com

We have a customer who changed his email address. That's all we have to change. This should be a basic function. Please, Please, Please, Fix this.

Has anyone found a viable solution? I've just created a new ticket with Shipstation but I expect no resolution after finding this post. It's 2021. We should be able to edit customer entries.

I'm really tired of this negative situation, and SS seems to have no interest in changing it. I'm also REALLY annoyed that even after I consistently check "Keep Me Logged In", it logs me out after a few minutes. I use SS all day long, and have to repeatedly log back in again. Very frustrating. I am now looking at alternatives to SS....there is at least one similar one out there which I've found.

SHIPSTATION, GET ON THIS!! IT HAS BEEN TWO FRIGGIN YEARS!! IT IS ONE OF THE MOST SIMPLE THINGS TO IMPLEMENT AND YOU'RE JUST BEING LAZY ABOUT IT!

  • April 26, 2021
This is absolutely critical. We've had multiple misships because we are unable to delete old customers

  • May 5, 2021
Hey shipstation, we're not in the 90s anymore, why do we need to download a csv file then edit the info then re upload it it, this is extremely time consuming, not efficient by any means and simply a joke, a big company like yours can't add a simple edit like this!! ridiculous!!!! Our business is losing a lot due to this issue, if you keep ignoring this you leave us no choice but looking for any SMART alternative rather than your platform. SO PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP

Is there not enough frustration leading to anger with your customers or in this thread yet? Apparently not. Can ShipStation *PLEASE* add this feature. This is ridiculous that we have to grovel and beg for basic functionality. Also, this isn't some 80/20 or even 95/5 percent functionality (only 5% or less would use this feature). This is BASIC functionality. This was first requested over 5 years ago! "February 18, 2016" Get your devs on this NOW, please! Your competitors are growing in ability - and they are hungry for business. I'm going to have to take a look around again and see if my business is better served elsewhere.

We are actually deciding that this is not worth using because of the inability to edit customers info. I have to be able to edit the incorrect info and then resend the tracking info to the customer. To future customers: If they don't fix this don't bother with ship station until they fix it. It just causes you problems down the road.

I'm really tired of this negative and inconvenient situation. I'm also REALLY annoyed that even after I consistently check "Keep Me Logged In", it logs me out after a few minutes. I use SS all day long, and have to repeatedly log back in again. It even logs me out while I'm in the midst of creating a shipping label, so I have to log back in and start all over again !!! Very frustrating. I am now looking at alternatives to SS....there is at least one similar one out there which I've found.

Can you post any SS alternatives you recommend to this thread? I am also often bothered by these issues - even if they are not part of the core functionality the complete lack of interest that SS shows to address them is the most troubling.

Hi,

I wanted to send a package to a new person not listed in Customers. I assumed\hoped there would be a way to manually add the new customer. Alas, I couldn't find a manual entry feature. I had to download the sample CSV file, update the CSV file, and the import the updated CSV file. Seems like a lot of extra steps to simply add one new customer.

Once I had the new customer added I noticed I didn't set the Name field correctly. I clicked on the name, ShipStation displayed a Customer detail form. But, oh no, I couldn't edit the fields to fix the name. I had to reopen the CSV file, fix the name, and reimport it to ShipStation. Again, seems like a lot of extra steps to fix one field in the customer record.

So would be great if I can:

* Manually add a new customer w/o having to edit and import CSV files.

* Manually edit the customer record w/o having to edit and import CSV files.

Ed
