How is this not a thing? I've just been chatting to support who appear to think it's normal to expect you to upload a CSV file to change something as simple as an email or a house number on an address!

This is 2022!!!! Make it possible to edit the data using the web GUI, or I will move to another platform!

The customer list should be allowed people to add, edit and delete manually on the portal rather than uploading csv file. When can we have this functionality in ShipStation?

Please take a action now!

Thank you

It is 2022. The fact this is not a feature is inexcusable.

I couldn't agree more. We shipped to a customer via UPS with a typo on the address  (eg: 123 Main St. instead of 1123 Main St.) Because we couldn't edit the customer address, it was repeated on a repeat order. That caused an 'address correction' fee from UPS twice. The best I can do at this point is to import the customer into Shipstation with the correct address but there's no way to attach the historical orders to the new customer details.

Please unlock your customer files so edits can be made, saving time & money to Shipstation users!

I can only echo what everybody else has stated here for almost 5 years. We have a customer database that we've reformatted for shipstation. The problem for us is the inability to remove old information. I believe we can call and request deletions, but where is the efficiency in that? Please allow us to directly edit the customer database.

Using a csv upload to edit a customer record is ridiculous! This should be an easy feature to add to the interface, and we've been asking for years to have this in place. Please make this a priority.

We just shipped to the wrong address for the same customer for the third time in a row. When you're shipping over a dozen packages and on a time clock it's impossible to remember to change the address - it's just insanity that we can't go in and change the damn address for someone. I am gobsmacked to find that it's not possible to change this info. As we get busier this may actually kick ShipStation out of the running for our business. This cannot keep happening. It is just dumb.

Adding to this post that this is needed to allow subject deletion requests under GDPR.

Asking on live chat each time is not ideal.

This has legit been an issue since 2016?! That's insane. I just posted about it.

Is there something comparable to shipstation I should look at? I can't believe simple functionality like this is not a given.

We have 106 pages of redacted customers that we would like to remove.  Is there any way to do that?

Wow...this is still a problem in  2024! I have B. Jones which should be B. Stone...error on the listening part of the phone call when taking an order. I have dozens of things I'd correct as the owner of the company! Names in ALL lower case, abbreviations that are incorrect in the USPS but NOT ShipStation. PLEASE...let us know if this has been updated. Thank you!

The best way to delete is to select all of the bad addresses then for the last address choose a good address and merge them all together keeping the good address. This declutters and eliminates all of the wrong and outdated addresses.

We really need this function so that my shipping team knows not to send out stuff to old clients, if we can delete the older clients names and add the new ones, it would help us out greatly, doesnt seem like this should be a hard fix I wouldnt think, let us know, thanks~

We are a potential new client - because of this issue of not being able to edit/delete existing "customers" I fear we may not be able to use this service - which otherwise would fit all of our needs perfectly.

Adding to this that once again, I have had to raise a support ticket to delete orders from ShipStation to be able to delete a customers information. Slows things down hugely for us and they are getting more frequent.

Hello dtguktf!

Thank you for your post! We always appreciate reminders about features that customers want to see. The above community member is correct; uploading a new CSV is the only way to edit or delete a customer.  I wanted to make sure to let at least you know you are being heard.

-Happy Shipping, and have a good rest of your week!

So please fix it! This is literally database 101 stuff.

I'm shocked to see that people have been asking for this for 7 years and it's still not been fixed.

This is such a basic request

When will this feature finally be implemented? Considering it's been over 6 years since the original post.

Update? Seven years to update this feature is way longer than necessary. Have you actually spoken to anyone on your development or coding team?

and don't say

"Thank you for the post on this feature request. We are always looking for ways to improve the user experience. Our Product Team is very aware of the limitations around this feature and is determining its place on the product roadmap."

It means nothing and is not even specific to this issue.

Thanks in advance:)

Hello @jennifer_eden!

Thank you for following up! We understand this has been a popular request among our merchants, and the developers are aware of it. While it's not on our roadmap at the moment, rest assured the idea is on our radar, and we'll be sure to update merchants if anything changes. Keep those great suggestions coming!

Happy Shipping!

"it's not on our roadmap at the moment, but rest assured the idea is on our radar." Translation: people have been asking for this for 8 years, but we just DGAF. Wow. How is this not implemented yet? Updating a CSV file with over 100,000 customer entries just to make an edit or delete is simply stupid. There is no reason that this should not be a feature. Pure laziness on the part of Shipstation.

Don't say happy shipping. Don't give some other type of bland statement of "we appreciate and listed to our customer concerns." Grow a pair and just be honest and say "It's not happening any time soon so deal with it or find someone else."
