We would really appreciate having this feature added. We deal with a lot of international customers, and creating return labels manually is a slow process. We prefer to include a return shipping label in the package for the customer to keep things easy for them. In general we love using ShipStation, but we would definitely consider an alternative if they supported this feature--it is essential for us. Hopefully it can be added soon!

I was stunned to find that international returns are not an option. We have found that currently as international customers must go to the store we have been faced with a few problems that shipstation could rectify as they have in the Domestic market. Our policy is that customers pay return shipping, this is inclusive of the international market. This has caused problems as we have not been able to share our volume discounts with our customers, and so they end up occasionally angered by the cost and the fact that they must sort it all out. The other option is that we manual make returns via the Courier website... and well, we all know how thats just not feasible. Overall, we handle our decision of how to return and how much to subsidize based on each case whether domestic or international. So long as the same documentation was provided, of course with the "returned goods" on the commercial invoice, we would be happy to have the returns work the same and send the label and document to the customer.

Something that would be extremely helpful for my business is to allow us to create return labels for international customers. we have many international customers and not having this feature is very time consuming. Not to mention it has us leaving your website and using another platform to create and pay for a return label. It's just as much of a loss for you guys as it is for us on our end. Shipstation is a great site that we don't want to stop using, so it would be so so so helpful if you guys could add this feature. thank you

If we can ship an order from Canada to USA via ShipStation, we should be able to generate a return label for the same order. I guess the De Minimis of $20 in Canada is the reason why it is complicated.

September 02, 2016 it is now April 2020 what is tacking so long!!

We deal with many international return shipments each week - being able to send a replacement shipment under warranty (goods already imported to destination country and duties or VAT paid on original purchase) with a return label is invaluable. Most of our carriers allow for this as an option if we go through their portal - so having it inaccessible through Shipstation is confusing and incredibly inconvenient. We use Shipstation with: Canada Post Purolator FedEx UPS Dhl We have not had any issues with restrictions on international shipments, and usually have more issues if a customer tries to ship an item back them selves, as it they sometimes incorrectly value an item for Canadian import duty purposes.

We handle returns the same way for USA and Canadian customers. The only difference on our end is we are currently processing the USA returns (95% of our business) manually. It is extremely time consuming and seems like it should be a basic feature of any shipping software (though no company I can find offers it). If this feature was available ShipStation would be near perfect. If another company offered it we would switch -- even though we love ShipStation -- because it would be a huge timesaver for us and our customers. We would need to be able to change the cost in the customs info and mark the package "Canadian Goods Returning"

Please give us international returns! Literally I just need to at least be able to do the same processes as any other shipment with the option to change my ship from address to an international address

As folks said, an integration with a customer service desk / RMA workflow would be ace. In the UK we have to log goods coming in for temporary import with HMRC under Inward Processing Relief - and then notify HMRC when replacement / repaired goods leave the country again. The system is a bit of a minefield and it would be great to have something that made it smoother / more idiotproof.

Why is taking so long? Your competitors are having this feature for quite some time now. We handle returns the same way for USA and Canadian customers. The only difference on our end is we are currently processing the USA returns (95% of our business) manually. It is extremely time consuming and seems like it should be a basic feature of any shipping software (though no company I can find offers it). We really need this solved. It is causing a lot of problems with our business as well... Shipstation, are you still planning to publish this feature? It looks like you have been working on it for 2+ years. Many businesses are international, we would love this feature, and to be honest, it is essential for many businesses.

For returns from our USA customers returning to our warehouse in Canada, we have to generate the return shipping label from the Fedex or UPS portals manually. We are at the point where we would rather open a second ShipStation account to link in our Fedex USA and UPS USA accounts so that we can generate the labels easier. This is a costlier solution for us, but makes an easier workflow as our logistic team won't need to jump into the Fedex / UPS portals. ShipSation: Please put some priority into making this feature work at least for Canada and USA now that we have our USMCA/CUSMA put into effect with the higher de minimis for Canada.

We also need a solution to this issue. We have to generate return labels for international customers. What is the timeline for a fix for this?

  • December 28, 2020
how is this not a common feature at this point. the post is from 2017 this is a joke its 2021 and still no international return labels how else would this be done on a mass scale for larger businesses get it together shipstation

Please implement this feature asap. We have a global economy and this is essential for business.

Policy is the same for international and domestic customers. It costs us a lot of time and money to not be able to create a return label for our growing international consumer base

  • June 25, 2021
Shipstation need to be able to support international returns. This will make less friction for our customer and in return get more international customers to buy : )

Is this feature still in the pipeline - we are currently trying to figure out the best way to have a package returned to us as we sent the wrong item out.  Customer is also needing a return from us in order to claim back the taxes they paid.

I've heard there there are alternatives to Shipstation out there that can do this. If anyone knows the specific names it would be really helpful.

6 years later and the problem still exists. We are another shipstation customer frustrated by the fact that we need to sign up for another service to provide return labels to our international customers. Is this feature at least on the roadmap?

  • September 7, 2024

Adding that vendor logistics from international source would be nice.

  • October 4, 2024

Commenting as another user that needs international return labels for their business. Right now we do our return labels manually through UPS, costing us more and losing Shipstation money that we'd happily pay if it was included in their software.
