I talked to Veeqo support (since they don’t have extra small box as well, even though its available if you purchase label directly from Amazon)  They told me that Fedex is not interested in offering this feature through resellers  (like shipstation) as they want merchants to buy labels directly from them.

A little inconvenient but the prices are actually better than through the shipstation for all box sizes, so…

Not sure this applies to all of us. In my case, ShipStation is not “reselling” Fedex postage to me. I print all of my postage through my connected carrier account (Fedex) on ShipStation. So all I need (and I think many other people in this thread) is the option to have the Extra Small Box as a package type be added. Once that is added, using my connected carrier account, I will see my negotiated rates directly with Fedex for that package type. Fedex isn’t losing out on anything as the label I am purchasing is directly through them (by way of ShipStation to print the label).

Regarding the request for the "Extra Small Box" package type. I wanted to follow up and assure you all that your request has been officially passed along to our developers and added to our product roadmap.

At this stage, we don't have an exact ETA for when it will be implemented, but I will update this thread as soon as I hear anything. We are so grateful for your feedback and your patience while our team works on bringing this feature to life.

Ok… There really should be an ETA. ShipStation is either adding the box (which doesn’t seem too difficult as you have multiple other package types for Fedex already) or ShipStation is not adding the package type (and if so, why?).

Thanks,
Syd

The frustration of this community is legit and I feel the same if not more frustrated now after reading previous comments. I am just learning of the FedEx Extra Small Box Option and didn’t know that this issue has been going on for SO LONG! This option will save our company thousands of dollars and every day this is not available is a gut punch. Seems this would be an easy fix. Does anyone use any other platforms for shipping where this is available?

ShipStation PLEASE add this box option! It is of utmost importance!

We use Fedex own shipping app.  For Amazon buy ship its also available if you ship from within your seller account.

its not about reselling.  When you use Shipstation it is Shipstation that has access, and collects information about all your customers, merchandise and prices.  *unless you have own customized API setup and does not share anything except delivery address and package size and weight.

When you use Fedex own app, its them who have access to all your business and know about you more than IRS

Do you have any updates that you could share with the community. We are all very anxious to have this shipping option available for our customers.

Thank you!

Our developer team is hard at work getting this package type implemented in ShipStation. We are unable to share any further details at this time.

ShipStation is too preoccupied with the WWEX merger, which generates high revenue for them, while folks like us who are in line to benefit from using FedEx One Rate for extra-small packages have to beg for the changes. While still paying SS to use their platform.

I am actually grateful that the shipstation developers could not perform a simple API change.

That prompted us to look for an alternative solution which we found and are currently testing for compatibility with our different end points: marketplaces where we sell,  own site,  accounting and warehousing software.

it looks like in a few weeks we will be ready to say goodbye to SS monthly subscription fees

An anecdotal update from my side… About 2 weeks ago, I spoke with my FedEx ground rep who had talked to an internal (FedEx) engineer who has dealt with ShipStation and the implementation of FedEx services on ShipStation. My rep mentioned that the engineer said that the Extra Small Box was rolling out with ShipStation and (not sure how accurate this is) that a support chat with ShipStation could potentially have the package type added to your ShipStation account on a case by case basis. I haven’t tried it, and thought maybe I was being fed some BS, but that was what I heard.

To preach to the choir here, this is taking way too long for ShipStation to implement. Just looking at the current package options for FedEx, UPS, USPS and DHL in ShipStation, I find it really hard to believe that ShipStation would need to spend more than lunch break in order to update the code and offer the Extra Small Box. Its instances like these, as they add up, that take long term customers from sticking around to finding other platforms that can provide quicker assistance to concerns.
