Yes, please add this! UPS Simple Rate is necessary.

jumping ship soon if simple rate is not added by end of year.

Our company is using the simple rate option for now 60% of shipments... i really hope it is added soon or we will have to look for an alternate program. since we are using ups.com to process these flat rate shipments, there is a lot of manual work that we have to avoid.

I just requested my rep to have the API added. I waited for MONTHS for my previous rep to say it was on Shipstation and not UPS. But it all makes sense now... thanks Micahel! My last several reps have been hit or miss on my requests, or even getting back to me. If I don't hear anything I will remind my rep that the similar FedEx One Rate program is accessible through API, and they are eager for more of my business. Maybe UPS doesn't want any of our business?

if it that was so @michael @Jesse we as the end user will have little influence on this including this thread. If a REST API is not available, it's easily done on UPS side as the whole UPS site is using API calls. This fully rest on Ship station and UPS. shipstation is in a developer program. they have a direct line to the developers and such. this is solely on shipstation to get movement on this and UPS to get agreement with shipstation.

It is available on ShipStation - I use it everyday. Here's what you do to get it to work: First you need to have UPS create you a second account for the Simple Rates (if you don't already have it). Then add the second UPS account under Carriers and Fulfillment. Now when you process an order in ShipStation click on the order number to pull up the order detail screen. Set the shipping weight and size, packaging and UPS Ground as the service type. Then under Other Shipping Accounts select the second UPS account you're using for Simple Rates shipping. You'll see the simple rate show up as the new shipping rate now. This has been working seamlessly for me for months now. See attached screen capture.

I have also been using UPS Simple Rate through Shipstation for months now, by having a 2nd UPS Account set up for Simple Rate. However, do you find that the Simple Rates are different than the UPS Website when you enter weights in ShipStation? I ship anywhere from 5 lb items to 50 lb items, but in ShipStation the weight will change the rate, whereas on the UPS Website, weight isn't even an option to enter.

boy, that would be really inconvenient to add an extra step when you ship hundreds of packages... we barely have time to enter the box size, let alone select another dropdown... I would say a separate account to select is a bandaid at best, but at least the feature availability is confirmed...

I tested it with weights for the same package size and the rates went up above 30 lbs. This is for a 12x6x6 package, so it would be hard to get above 30 lbs. in that package, but it does show there's a limit in weight to the Simple Rates.

We are a steel company and ship out a couple hundred items per week, all under 50 lbs but using SImple Rate. We can get over 30 lbs in a 12 x 6 x 6 box (crazy I know), but the rate jumps up to the "Large" Simple Rate when you enter 30 vs 31 lbs. My understanding on the UPS website is that weight doesn't matter as long as it's under 50 lbs, but isn't the case in SS. The UPS Simple Rate guidelines doesn't mention weight being a factor either, as long as under 50 lbs.

car parts seller here, we also often ship out 45lb packages that fit in a medium/large flat rate, so a 30lb limit would not do for us either

UPS Simple Rates says up to 50 lbs. on their website and there's no place to enter a weight when creating a shipment. The labels I print from ShipStation do show the weight so you may want to contact your account manager at UPS and ask if you can enter a lower number for the weight since it doesn't affect the rate. If so, then you can enter the lower weight number as a workaround.

Last week we had our UPS rep initiate a second account for us to utilize the Simple Rate as Mark had mentioned. Everything seemed to be going through, and just got this response from our UPS rep: I have bad news. UPS has removed the ability to add Simple Rate pricing agreements, this was a recent change announced on September 29th. The reason we can no longer add these agreements to an account is because UPS is looking to make Simple Rate a service level on the next Worldship upgrade in 2021. So for now, the service offering will only be available on UPS.com. I am so sorry I did not find this out sooner. I know that you were looking to have this service level on ShipStation, so I’m going to see if our tech team has a solution that does not involve a new account/agreement. But I can’t guarantee that they will have a solution.

I talked to my account rep about this last night. UPS was up in the air about keeping simple rate in the first place. They have written it into their API for third parties like shipstation and waiting for them to role out the update in the coming days. World ship will also be getting it in 2021 in Q2. I did send shipstation an email this morning seeing if they had any dates.

That makes sense. We now have 3 UPS accounts, one for domestic, one for domestic Simple Rate, and one for international. It's a massive pain, whenever I'm creating rules on the Shopify side, I have to do everything 3x over. We have a great rep, but that changes last year, the current rep missed our renewal, so we got to pay rack-rate for 3 months (still waiting on that refund), and the only quick-fix was to spin up another account. If Shipstation could compare the rates and pick the cheapest, having 3 accounts might not be so bad, but that's not an option, so I've created rules for the typical scenarios, but the edge cases all need human intervention.

Any update on this? I'd really like to use UPS Simple Rate

A poke for me as well. Our UPS rep sold us on Simple Rate, sees perfect for us, until we saw we can't use it with ShipStation, which puts us at a quandary

Shipstation guaranteed we would be able to ship UPS Simple rate and so we signed up with them. Now they ignore any request for the program and keep telling me I can ship USPS flat rate... Very irritating. Terry Gould Metalpowdersusa

UPS simple rate is needed - used shipstation for years - now looking into other platforms that allow it.

Is this in the works? USPS is flailing right now with delayed shipments. Would be super helpful to be able to switch a good chunk of our flat rate shipments to UPS.
