Hi! Any update with the API to include package count??

  • December 10, 2019
The lack of this feature is going to become a significant issue for us - Amazon does not allow multiple tracking numbers for a single item. But when a single item is a set of products, sometimes it has to be shipped in multiple packages. ShipStation has allowed me to automate our warehouse shipping to the point where a shipper only has to scan a bar code and hit the enter key. Some proportion of Amazon orders will be disrupting the process by requiring manual shipping. Please add this feature to the API as soon as possible.

This is important

This is essential for us too.

We're just about to start using SS and need to find a way of creating 2 packages in one shipment for DPD local or the ability to generate 2 shipments with Parcelforce if a customer buys product X and has more than one product in their order. Finding every order and splitting shipments will be a real hassle.

Having the ability to ship multi-packages through the API is a must for our operations. We are currently using ShipStation as a hub to pull in orders from multiple channels and export them to our inventory system. We are using a different shipping manifest system but would move to using ShipStation if we could have the multi-package shipments working through the API. This is a must for our clients we ship for.

90% of our shipments are multi-box. This needs to be an option

Hi team, do you have an update on this? I have to provide an update to our directors as to whether we will need to look for an alternative service provider.

I'm wondering what "under review" tag means, past 5 years and the the team is still reviewing? probably had the time to shift the whole team there

If you’re not going to make a much needed improvement to the system such as this, why not at least say something about it. The fact that this is not native functionality is both mind boggling and infuriating at the same time.

User Ship 2 is right. We have been on this platform for over 3 years and I wish this was a feature every day I have to manually add the second box to our 2 box single SKU kits. Will this ever be a thing because I am at the point of considering other software? Jamie_Tidrick I'm will you as well let's get this topic fired up we have waited too long for an answer.

Hey All, Just a heads up, if you are looking for a good API solution that handles multiple packages (and is still run by ShipStation) look at ShipEngine. My company is in the progress of moving everything over to ShipEngine. Be aware though that you cannot use the same email address for ShipEngine as you did for Shipstation!

Exactly .Our warehouse has to manually go through more than 500 orders every day to add the packages for multi quantity orders and also we don't get multiple tracking numbers from ship station also which is requirement for many channels . We have to do so much workarounds just to get labels and update tracking. This is unbelievable that we have been requesting for long time and it has not been implemented yet.

DPD local charge a fixed price per shipment regardless of the number of parcels in each shipment. At the moment the only way to take advantage of this is to scan an order to print the first label and then switch to the dpd portal, find the order and add an extra label. This is very time consuming. Please please please can you provide the functionality to split shipments based on rules and generate multiple labels in DPD local (or Parcelforce). Thanks

Shipstation API does not actually support multi-package shipments, so it will return that data for the overall shipment itself, and each packages weight will be totalled together and shown in that response but the dimensions won’t show up unless it is a single package shipment.  Now every partner using EDI integration now so really need Shipstation can make API support multiple-package shipment.

We use a software that estimates the boxes and weights required for an order. It would be wonderful if the calculated shipment info could be brought into Shipstation. The software we use is Bespoke Shipping. Here is a link to their API docs. https://parcelintelligence.com.au/cs/documentation/#/api

It would be wonderful if we can create the shipping label for multiple packages of an order vi API.

Hello to All

Any updates with the API to create shipment with multiple packages ?

Agreed. Supporting multi-package shipments via API is a much-needed feature. Our EDI merchant and EDI integrator support multi-package shipments, but today only receive one master tracking number for the shipment via ShipStation API.

I'm adding my vote but from what I can see, this feature request is on the idea board since 2013...

This is a huge time waste for our company and shocking that this is not already a feature.  All of our products are shipped as individual cases/packages causing a lot of manual labor to split out every single order into multiple packages and manually adding each weight and dimensions.  It's clear we are not the only company struggling with this.  This needs to be addressed and resolved

Please ! Add this features to your API Shipstation

We need this as well. Not sure why this hasn't been implemented yet.
