It is a legal requirement that EORI numbers are used on shipping goods from the UK to EU and Rest of the World. This field has been implemented granted, but still requires manual intervention to apply the EORI to each order, not an easy task when shipping 1000's of parcels a week off shore. Can this not be automated by rule, that when shipping to EU, the EU EORI number is selected, and when shipping outside of the EU (Rest of World) the UK EORI is used?

Hello, Now the ability to add tax identifiers to orders has been implemented we need this action to be added to the automation rules because currently the only way to do this is manually on each order which will take too long.

  • December 29, 2020
exactly - this is crazy, imagine someone having 1000 parcels a week - really needed and essential task to do ASAP by developers

  • December 29, 2020
It's not an understatement to say this is a vital function. Getting the Tax Identifiers was half the effort. We actually need to be able to use them. I'm glad you guys rolled half of the function out but it really is pretty awful that this was left until so late. Our January sale period is going to require a lot of extra mouse clicks. It's not even built as a required field so the potential for human error is high and likely to cause rejected shipments and ultimately customer complaints. Not impressed with how this has been implemented so incomplete at the last minute.

Thanks for voting Pete and Tomasz! hopefully shipstation get this sorted asap. I also got onto chat support and the agent said they would raise it with relevant teams, if enough of us ask they will move quicker hopefully

Hi Harry thanks for adding this topic, i try to share it everywhere so we can have more votes, do the same please share. I am really surprised this functionality was not introduced ages ago, what about before brexit, if you sent a parcel to USA or Canada, whenever outside EEU, you had to fill the EORI and VAT anyway, so this is like an ignorance from the development site. This is essential and it should be done from the very start of the shipstation system.

Hello Mark, Nice idea to put the tax identifiers on the packing slip but not all that useful, this information needs to be applied to the CN23 and the electronic customs data this is a feature they have enabled but you need to add it to each order individually, this is a request to enable the feature of auto applying these identifiers to the customs declaration based on the automation rules. I have set up HS codes all fine on our account these can be added at SKU level or defaulted for all orders.

  • December 30, 2020
Hi Harry I see now, a definite need for this. What I have been concentrating on was making the packing slip work for couriers as a 'commercial invoice', I do now have the HS codes showing so should be OK.

Don't forget shipping to NI using the XI EORI, there is another thread going for this with more votes. http://feedback.shipstation.com/forums/330429-product-feedback-fresh-ideas/suggestions/42311746-add-tax-identifiers-to-order-using-automation-rule

Hi, There is a really urgent need for this. Shipstation, please can you pick this up as soon as possible whether it's by automation rule or at an account level. Thanks, Matt

Please yes, can we have it as in the UK after BREXIT all exporters need to have an EORI number and the only way it fits is on the Tax Identifier box but it is annoying to type it manually.

  • January 13, 2021
Big upvote! We too have an urgent need for this, post-BREXIT. Doing this manually on hundreds of orders is absurd with potential for human error. Help us out, ShipStation.

  • January 20, 2021
Please, we need this to be automated. Having to manually select the EORI number for every international shipment is a huge chore and it becoming a big issue for us.

The problem is that Shipstation managers don't think! This should be implemented at least 4 years ago, but they focused on some super-duper features nobody really needs them. All we need is the correct functionality. Shipstation would be a great system if they focus on BASIC functionality to be mastered! But they don't understand that I do not need a new layout, I need to be able to finish my task! Fortunately, there is a competition on the market - am already testing several of them and will be happy to say goodbye to Shipstation.

We should be able to set defaults for Tax Identifiers for all international orders. It's outrageous only having this possible on a per order basis. It's far too easy for users to miss.

Shipstation is deleting my comments - why? is the truth about you - shipstation - to painful to handle ? Do the job properly! To all from UK - i have a grat alternative: despatchcloud - they have fully functional service! Give it a go !

Interesting they have time to remove comments, but don't seem to have the time to respond to a 5 week old feedback request.

With only 33 votes, I'm a little confused how other UK shippers manage this. Are we in such a minority or is the inefficiently and error rate just accepted widely? From speaking to support it seems this won't be a priority for long time so I think if anyone is shipping internationally from the UK in a post-Brexit world, Shipstation is probably not really the app to use for labels. At least not until they've road mapped this. We'll be moving platforms later this year.

  • February 5, 2021
'@shipstation Would be good for you to give an update on this for peace of mind of current users, just an acknowledge would be good?

  • February 5, 2021
Yes a worrying point you make @Pete Cooke. What a shame. I also write this comment whilst the ability to print labels is completely down. Hmmmmmmm....

  • February 5, 2021
This is deal-breaker for us and also many others. The fact that support is apparently tagging this with lower priority is just not acceptable and as a result, we're also looking to move platforms ASAP as some of these glaring issues just don't seem to get addressed. All my niggles I have with Shipstation have been documented for many years and whilst support always respond with "it's on our roadmap" etc, they never get resolved. Sometimes they just mark a ticket as resolved without explanation and then the ticket receives no updates for many years - it would be a great system with these automation issues resolved... but alas, they ruin it by leaving considerable gaps in the requirements that could easily be resolved with a more advanced automation system.

Its time to quit Shipstation. These are my alternatives: easyship.com cloudshipping.co.uk https://www.metapack.com/en_gb/software/shipping despatchcloud.co.uk

We could really do with this too. When we scan an order and the label prints we end up having to void the label, go back to the order screen, add the tax identifier and then print again. We have a tax identifier for Northern Ireland and one for the rest of the world. We bought a self inking stamp as a quick work round while we wait for this to be implemented!

We use a self inking stamp with Eori and NI Eori so we can keep scanning without having to go to orders screen to select the tax identifier!

Steve, i think you will be waiting for long long time... I am giving up on Shipstation and moving to UK based company: despatchcloud.co.uk They gave me trial access to the system and to me - it is just as good as shipstation but no problems with it.

With the new rules for brexit we have added our EORI number to our account to add to our shipments going within the EU, however it seems we need to select to add this individually to each shipment in the customs declaration section. It would be much more efficient to have a rule created which would mean we can automatically apply our EORI number on certain shipments. Having to edit each customs declaration to include this is a very long and tedious process
