Now that ShipStation is not allowing for digital submission of customs forms for companies other than UPS and Fedex, I would like to see a feature where ShipStation will generate a customs form for me to print and put on the box.

A benefit of using ShipStation is that they have streamlined the shipping process. Forcing us to manually create a customs label is turning out to be very time consuming.

Hi there,

As far as I know, ShipStation still automatically generates and prints customs documentation for all supported international carriers!

Depending on which carrier you are using, here is how they are handled:

  • Integrated on the Label (USPS): For USPS international shipments, the customs declaration is printed directly on your 4x6 shipping label. The label serves as both your postage and your customs form, so no extra printout is needed.

  • Paperless Digital Submission (FedEx, UPS, DHL Express): All customs declarations are automatically transmitted electronically to the carrier (via EDI, ETD, or PLT) the moment you generate the label.

  • Printable PDF Commercial Invoices: For international carriers that still require physical paperwork, ShipStation automatically generates a printable PDF customs form. Once you click Create Label, go to your Shipments tab, find the Customs Forms column, and click the PDF icon to print.

Do want to remind you that Customs forms can only be generated after a shipping label has been purchased.
