Hi- We often times have back orders but can ship partial shipments. Would love the ability for Shipstation to automatically split orders for us based on rules.

1. Need auto split feature on orders; so can easily ship from 2 locations. 2. Be able to tag my products in Shopify; so that the tags will update in SS; so don't have to manually apply tags in SS again.

I would also love to see this feature. Sometimes we take customer pre-order products on the same order as current stock products, and splitting these orders manually cannot be scaled. We either have to make the customer wait until their pre-order product ships to get products we currently have in stock (sometimes that's over 6 months away!), or try to encourage them to order pre-order products separately (which doesn't always work!). If we had the ability to split orders with automation rules, that would solve our issue.

I would have my auto-split occur based on product tags. If an order has X product tags, split and assign to Y user. This would be so so so so so so so helpful (even though it isn't the 'backorder' request, it is related).

This would save us hours a day if we could create an Automation rule that splits orders/items off based of a product tag.

I would love an automatic split function to be released. We have orders from ourselves and other vendors come in and we have to split them daily. It is very time consuming and could be streamlined if a new function would split them for us.

YES! back ordered and sold out, or items that have been temporarily pulled.

Yes, can we please be able to split orders upon import into ShipStation? I have some products fulfilled in-house and some by a different company. Splitting every order manually is time-wasting. Would be great to have automation in order splitting!

Being able to auto-split orders based on products ordered would be a welcome feature. We're going to be using different fulfillment locations based on product types, and while manually splitting these orders is doable for the immediate future, it won't be for long. We'll be reliant on this feature as order volume scales.

Automatically splitting orders via rules would be a huge timesaver for so many- please consider adding this functionality!!

Another +1 for an auto split feature based on product SKU. I'm out of votes, but we would love this feature.

This would save us a substantial amount of time. We do a lot of print on demand products that fulfill by the print on demand company - we also have multiple products that ship from a couple different warehouses - none of these are drop ship products. While splitting them manually works perfectly fine - it's definitely a time sink and there leaves room for human error in terms of accidentally marking a product that is fulfilled from the wrong location which ends up with the customer not receiving their product and us not being completely aware of it until they let us know.

We get 1000s of orders per day, and have to manually split certain orders to fit into USPS flat rate envelopes. We have an automation rule that creates a tag automatically for orders that need to be split, then we have to manually go through and split them, which takes hours per day. Please add this feature. Thank you!

'+1 - I can't believe this isn't a feature.

Would love for this to be an option as an automation rule! We have several locations where we need to pull our inventory from and have to split every single order to locate. If this was available to be used as an automation rule would be ideal! We have tried the new shipstation (V3) and thought that this would be a big part of the upgrade, but was a bit disappointed when it was not included.

Adding the split order option under order automation would fix the issue. Then users can have an auto tag do the criteria to split, and then the action can be splitting the order.

Agree - needs to be a feature!!! This is basic to most WMS systems and should be a minor engineering hurdle for the Shipstation team!

We use two box sizes for all of our products and bundle boxes together with a strapping machine. In our business, each box contains exactly one item. We manually split an order when a customer has 8+ items in Box Size A or 10+ items in Box Size B, but it's easy to make a mistake and forget to split an order -- especially with batch printing. We also have customers who order the same thing every week (e.g. 27 items split into three bundles). It would be nice if shipstation could recognize our recurring orders and split them appropriately.

We also would greatly benefit from an automation rule to split an order based on Item SKU and on quantity. Some items ship from a second location. And if the quantity of one item is too great for one box, it would automatically generate a split order. Thanks.

We would greatly benefit from an automation rule to split orders. Some of our products ship from a second location. And quantities too great for a single box could autmatically go in two boxes. So splitting by SKU, by tag, and by quantity would be wonderful. Thanks.

Add auto split depending on PRE ORDER tag or other location. If we have multiple locations items ship from we need it to auto split them automatically. It gets very confusing for the locations to ship one order with multiples items that are in other places.

I would love to see this option. We have a certain product that has to ship via a different method than all our other products due to the nature of the product. If there was a way to automatically have that item split out into its own order, and then I could also use automation to set the carrier/method for that item, that would eliminate a significant amount of manual work for us. Thanks!

YES! Please make this happen!

We have SKUs that are bundles of 2 items and they ship from two different locations. It would be great to be able to automatically split certain SKUs into two orders.

would LOVE to see this as well

The ability to select items to be made into a BACKORDER is critical. When you can't ship an entire order - to have to go in and MANUALLY split it first, then ship the first part etc etc is tedious and creates a LOT of extra work. One should be able to select items that are not shipping in an order, mark them as a backorder, (or even CANCELLED) and have a new order created with the backordered items. IN addition, those items should be listed in the notes or as an add on to the currnt order so the cusomter knows that there are pending items. Curently we have to do this entirely manually and its insane. Backorders and part shipping are a fact of life, shipstation needs to provide for this in a smoother way. judy
