Automating Shipping Box selection/assignment

I'm currently looking into various methods to automate this on our end of things, but it would be a stand-out feature if I could input item dimensions and weight within my API call for uploading orders, and have a box size picked from a (user chosen) selection of standard box sizes. Perhaps a combination of Shipstation's Automations and creative coding could achieve this goal currently
