allow people to make changes to their pick list so they can customize it there self. This is a feature you need to have. Can't wait to see it thanks/

this is a great idea I love it

Would love customized pick lists in general, but what I'd really like to see is a pick list for the entire batch that not only lists the items that need to be picked, but also lists the orders with those items in it. For example: The fields would be: SKU, ProductName, UPC, QTY and ***OHQTY** Then, under the actual data for each, we'd have the order numbers listed as such with quantity per order next to the number. Orders #s: 15000, 15002, 15004(3), 15010, 15015(6) If you guys can make this happen we would dance down the street singing praises of your company. This would truly take away a headaches for us. **If we're going to chase dragons anyway, I guess we should bring a sword... DREAM pick list would also take the stockstatus field from Volusion and put the on hand quantity next to the qty ordered. PLEASE SHIPSTATION YOU'RE OUR ONLY HOPE.

We also would like to see product options on the same line as all other information, so we can fit more line items per page. Right now we only can get 15 line items per page, could probably fit twice as much if the spacing of the pick list layout could change. Plus, it seems that page breaks are happening at the wrong place. The following screenshot shows our pick list without images and order numbers and you can see the page breaks a line item in half, because of the size option going to next line. http://screencast.com/t/nK5NmlQNNgek

Thank you for all your updates, everyone! We read your feedback daily and any anecdotes or additional details on the current pick list functionality or what specific goals you have in mind for the pick list help us when researching features.

Adding the batch # and number of orders would help with record keeping and tracking productivity. Also allowing the bin location to be customized either larger or with a barcode would be good.

A simple, fully custom, pick list would be ideal, similar to packing slips. We would like to import product attributes and format the pick list in to a 2x10 grid (per 8.5x11 sheet) for labels that can be used on the products. Being able to organize them by order would be essential.

Is there any update on this? This would be an amazing feature to have.

Hey @Nick Daniels Lighthouse LEDs! Thanks for checking in. We recently reworked some internal processes and are playing a very large game of catchup. The product team is still reviewing this idea among the many others brought up in this forum. Are you looking for one particular addition to the pick list or just more flexibility? Something that might help you today is to use the order line items export on your Orders page (it's under "Other Actions"). This way, if you know some spreadsheet magic, you can pivot table your way through to a different type of pick list.

Thanks for the input, I'll play around with the order line item export maybe this weeked. Full control and formatting of the picklist would be amazing. It would simplify many things in the realm of our store. Having the ability to format the picklist in any given grid format (for a sheet of product labels for example) and to have attributes able to be used as well that are imported for the product(s) on the picklist. Not only would it allow further development of our actual store easier and one less thing to worry about there, but that it would be a time and money saving feature as well!

I'm just going to throw this out there because it seems so simple for Shipstation to do, but it still has not happened. It is probably a 10 minute coding change. Why can't Packing Slips 'Order Items By' Warehouse Location like Pick Lists are able to? It would greatly improve picking for a ton of clients (like us) that don't use pick lists.

'@Mika Casey MMA Warehouse LLC – We’ve recently improved how we handle user feedback so it’s taking more time to understand and prioritize each active idea (Because of all the great feedback, we have our work cut out for us!), and the product and development teams appreciate all of your patience. I noticed you’ve already voted for this idea, but for other users who haven’t found it here’s the link to the idea to sort your pick lists and packing slips by warehouse location: http://support.shipstation.com/forums/330429-product-feedback-fresh-ideas/suggestions/3022365 @jeffsilla5287 – You’re right, using order items export is not a good solution for larger operations if you don’t have available resources. I recommend looking into this only if you don’t have to deal with hundreds of orders each day and can find someone tech-savvy and creative enough to come up with a dynamic report. @everyone – if you haven’t already, can you tell us what kind of customizable pick list you’re interested in. or what obstacles you run into today with the current pick list?

'@ShipStation. We use a custom picklist that prints on an 8.5"x11" sheet of paper that has 20 labels on it. Each label represents a line item in the picklist and they are in order of how they show up on the packing slips. We also include attributes from magento on the labels to provide the customers detailed information in regards to the product they ordered. The labels are used on each line item in the order. Let me know if you have questions or need clarification. This is something I would love to see happen (fully customizable picklists)

I believe Ordoro has this capability and i have been lobbying shipstation for this. It should be a simple fix. We need to be able to change font sizes and positioning and it would be nice if we could input barcodes so the picker could scan the pick list and then the shelf to verify it matches.

'@Zcolander. Hopefully they make this happen soon. That kind of flexibility would be a huge step for many businesses.

Honestly, just being able to edit the pick list exactly like you allow us to edit packing slip templates, would be incredibly helpful. All most of us seem to need to be able to do it make certain things bigger or smaller, or add/remove columns that populate with data that is already available in ShipStation anyway. The editor could uses the same "variables" like the packing slips use, like [Item Name], [Order Amount], and so on. just being able to tweak it a little bit would be amazing. Speaking for our company, we don't need the warehouse location column. It's wasted space, which is made all the worse by how oddly spaced the page is, even without pictures. Only 10 or 15 list items fit on a page. That's far too few. If we could just make the cell padding/margins smaller, and remove unwanted columns, we could get much more useful info per page.

'@ryanleber. Amen to that. It would be a huge step in the right direction for a LOT of the customers wanting this feature. From there, I'm sure many would have an added feature/tweak here and there.

Please please please! Maybe it can be a customizable "Item Demand Summary"

  • January 6, 2016
The items on the picklist is also in out of order for our case. We use Magento, which sorts the items correctly but once imported into ShipStation they lose their positions. You these two options for sorting items: - SKU - Name - Quantity Can you add a "Default" sorting option where ShipStation doesn't try to sort, it just lists the items as they appear in the CMS?

Any progress or update on the status of this request?

Hi @Nick Daniels Lighthouse LEDs , there is no update at this time. We are still working through other projects and have yet to get to this one. Thank you for your patience!

We would love customizable pick lists. A few things we'd add if we could: -- Batch # -- # of line items (different from total quantity) -- # of orders -- a '+' in front of the # required if the number is greater than 1 - currently the number is bolded, which is nice, but adding a '+' would enhance the usability. -- Ability to sort on Warehouse Location then SKU - currently if multiple SKUs are in the same Warehouse Location, they will be grouped by Warehouse Location, but in a random order. The only way around this is to append the SKU to the Warehouse Locations for all our products, which is hacky and messy. -- Ability to resize text, columns, margins, etc. - currently about 16 line items fit on one page for us on ShipStation's pick list, but using our old system, custom Volusion scripting, we could fit 34 without it being crammed. Part of that space efficiency was from having the Warehouse Locations pull in as line items rather than be repeated for each SKU in a column. That allowed the description to expand and usually fit on one line rather than two or three. Here's the one I developed for our team, which is generated from batched packing slip printing in Volusion. https://s3.amazonaws.com/kctool/athena/https___www.kctoolco.com_Receipt_PrinterFriendly.pdf

Fully customizable picklists are a must. I hate to say it, but I've looked at alternate shipping options just for this feature. That's how much of an impact it would have. With that said, I love shipstation and would like nothing more to see this feature come to life.

This would greatly improve our efficiency by allowing us to sort in more than by item number or description. We have a logical item number system and our warehouse is laid out by year then item number and excel will allow us to sort in the exact layout of our warehouse, speeding up pulling and increasing accuracy. For now this is the biggest problem we have and it doesn't look like we are the only ones, with over 150 comments and this request being over 4 years old.
