Shipstations' IT team should hire you. They couldn't do this within 2 years.
I use http://www.make.com to do the API call. It's pretty simple setup too as Make has several built in modules that can call the ShipStation API. You need to generate an API key in ShipStation first at https://ship13.shipstation.com/settings/api (If you have one in there already, don't make a new one just copy the existing key and secret). My workflow creates a Google Sheet and then calls ShipStation to list the orders that I want (using filters). I am not a programmer but I figured everything out through trial and error. You can also use zapier but I find Make more user friendly. Good luck!
