Some of my user need the packing slip while other user dont need them and when someone changes the printing option then it is going to be changed on all users, hat not good at all...

I just migrated from a software where my employees had their own shipping settings for each user. I'm going to have to switch back unfortunately. I need one user to print and email pdfs on 8.5x11 while another user prints standard UPS labels. I can't have them switching the settings back and forth constantly.

We'd love to be able to set different preferences for shipping label size and default printer by user instead of account-wide. We use ShipStation in 3 different locations, one of which has a 4x6 thermal printer while our other 2 use 8.5x11 half sheet labels. It'd be great not to switch defaults each session or have to purchase uniform printers across locations.

Is there any update on any progress/timeline in fixing this issue? It's been a request for nearly 4 years now. I was speaking with customer service via chat and they said that this suggestion would be implemented in the near future and linked me to this forum page, but I don't see any updates saying/implying that here.

Yep, 4 years and nothing. Typical Shipstation. Completely out of touch with the users and their needs.

Would love to see this warehouse option and not account wide label settings. Makes it very complicated with multiple warehouses with different label settings.

I want different printers to have different settings or different locations.... I have one location with a 4x6 label printer and one location with only an 8.5x11 printer. It's a pain to have to swap every time.

Can we add different label / printers for different carriers?

  • August 14, 2020
Allow different printers to print different options. For example, we use multiple printers. Some of our work requires us to print labels with packing slips. Sometimes we just want to print the label with out the packing slip.

Every time one of our users at any of our locations changes the printer format size for their labels, it changes ALL of the other users format sizes at the different locations. One of our stores may use a laser printer (8.5x11) whereas one of our stores may use a thermal printer(4x6). Why can't I lock in a printer type for each store without changes being made across the board? it's a very annoying extra step to something that has otherwise been great to use.

Absolute must to have settings per user for drop-shipping, please prioritise

3 years and you still haven't done this? Seems so basic and necessary...

we have a platinum plan with "5 users" but 2 different printer needs. We essentially only have 1 user as we have to text each other to take turns manually switching the printer settings. Crazy!

Absolutely need this. We have retail clients like Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, and Walmart that have totally different label needs than our e-commerce drop-ship customers ... we need to be able to have multiple people working on different processing task and switching these settings globally every time makes no sense at all.

FedEx and UPS have different types of labels. Printing adjustments need to be implemented per carrier. For example, ref 1 and ref 2 would come out differently for UPS and FedEx labels. As of right now, if you want you PO to come out as ref 1 on UPS it will not come out as PO reference on FedEx.

This has been ongoing since 2015? We just got ShipStation and this really destroys our dual-fulfillment workflow. Really disappointing.

Why is this still not a thing. This is 6 years old...

Seriously... @ShipStation - Are you here and hearing us? Can you confirm that this is actually "under review"? Or is that just to keep us from asking?

Currently you can only select one print template for all user accounts. In our case, we have hundreds of users using various hardware. Some of our teams have thermal label printers, whilst others use standard A4 laser printers. It would be a huge help if these teams could control the format of the labels they're generating to best suit their hardware set up.

Hello! We have taken on a new client that doubles our business. We desire to print packing slips and shipping labels together on 4x6 labels for them. We DO NOT desire to have packing slips printed for our other clients but right not this is an account wide setting. Please make different printing options available by store. We can't afford to be printing packing slips we don't need.

I have 2 warehouses and one of them is using a thermal printer while the other one is using a regular printer now every time one of them changes the label setting it gets changed for all users, it would have been great if ShipStation could just feater that each user can adjust his own label settings

Thank you!

This is a much needed feature

We have different stores connect to Shipstation. And also multiple users on this account. The feature of different user and different store have different print setup will be very very helpful for us to print label.

Thank you.

I agree, we need this option ASAP. So aggravating when I go to print and it's on a different print settings because someone else on the account (different user and login) has switched it to suit his label printing needs.
