This feature is badly needed and really should be added to the roadmap. Customer management is such a key function of the platform and it's current implementation is SO clunky.

Please expedite this!

This feature is highly needed. Not being able to delete or archive customers leads to shipping mistakes, and working with CSVs is incredibly clunky and overly time consuming. The long period of time this is left unanswered and the generic responses here really do lower my appreciation for Shipstation.

  • April 23, 2025

lol this thread is from 2016!!! what are you paying your developer(s), and how can I get a job like that?!? incredible stuff, really.

CSVs truly are the pinnacle of nimble and modern product management! be sure to send me the next (terrible) shipstation platform upgrade on a floppy disk!

the fact that is something we PAY FOR is just such an incredible bit, everyone wave to Nathan Fielder!

unreal.

People move and change addresses you know? i've been trying to edit this customer for 30 min now. yes, import. wtf is username in customer import?

@CaraAdmin , has there been any updates on this?? Your team has had since 2016 to get a modern address book up and running. Can we get some real response on this other than a canned statement?

Or, will ShipStation pay for my shipping expenses and time spent editing addresses on wrongly addressed packages?

I'm tired of paying for a service that ignores the true needs of it's customers.

J.

An update from our end as a user -
Given that Shipstation has no real plans to implement this feature in the foreseeable future, we've moved our B2B shipping activity (most of our shipping spend, and the one that this feature was affecting the most) to a different platform that does have such a feature.

Very dissapointed to have to do so - it's a pain to switch platforms, and this is such a basic feature, and the empty corporatespeak replies from admins are, frankly, insulting.

@CaraAdmin , thank you so much for that insightful response. I'll relay that to my supervisor. 🙄

Hi Cara, will you be on the Shipstation stand in London at the eCommerce Expo? Keen talk about this 7 year old problem with someone!

Hello @shipstation4!

Thank you for reaching out! While no one from our product team will be at this sales—focused Expo, I want you to know that the development team is aware of your request and keeping it on their radar.

I appreciate your persistence on this issue. Keep asking and making suggestions!

Happy Shipping!

-Cara

Please add this, it causes major issues when you try to create a shipment based on someones email address and the address in there is wrong you have no way of correcting it so we end up shipping many orders to the wrong address.

It's ridiculous that this hasn't been implemented. I asked two years ago. Others asked 7+ years ago. Glad they're "looking into it".

  • October 5, 2025

And FYI, these messages go straight to the spam folder. Perhaps they can look into that too.

Cara - I wouldn't exactly call it a feature. This is database 101. It's shocking that your product team can't and will not address this. Seven years? Come on. It would not take much to implement this and it would save your customers a major headache.

@CaraAdmin , if each of these comments goes to the development team and is reviewed, perhaps you can share with us the thinking as to why it hasn't been deemed important enough to implement, given the use cases highlighted in this thread and the length of time this issue/lack of basic feature has been discussed?

Hello @dtguktf!

Thank you for your excellent question! Currently, our teams are focused on other key projects, including Rate Shopping and Inventory. That said, feedback like yours helps us better understand the value this feature would bring to our merchants and plays a crucial role in shaping our future development priorities.

We also encourage other merchants in the Community to share how this feature would benefit their businesses—your insights truly help us make ShipStation even better for everyone.

Happy Shipping!

@CaraAdmin , enough with the canned responses.

"We also encourage other merchants in the Community to share how this feature would benefit their businesses"

Have you not read any of the last 7 (is it now?) years of input on this?  This feature would SAVE US TIME AND MONEY.

Instead of making crappy excuses, how about you tell us where you're at in the resolution??

  • October 17, 2025

@JKing Thank you for calling out the BS.

  • October 30, 2025

@CaraAdmin here's a +1 in case it's not clear that users of the premier shipping app in the world would like to be able to edit or delete customer records. Perhaps if you sent this thread to leadership someone would realize that it's a big deal to clients?

Hello to our amazing Community members!

We’re excited to share some great news from our development team 🎉 You can now create and edit customers directly in ShipStation from the Orders Grid.

Thank you so much for your requests and votes—your feedback truly makes a difference, and this update is a direct result of your voices being heard.

At this time, the option to delete customers isn’t available. The development team has shared that this is a more complex feature and something they would need to carefully evaluate in the future.

As always, we appreciate your continued feedback and engagement. Keep those ideas coming—we’re listening!

Happy Shipping!
