I can't believe that this request has been logged SINCE 2013 and has not been addressed!! PLEASE FIX THIS VERY SOON!!! What are you waiting for???? So many of our Orders have Multiple Packages.

I completely agree, we use Shipstation for printer rentals going out and we arrange collections on behalf of the customer, to have to do this as multiple shipments is totally uneconomical! It is cheaper for us to go out to a separate company to arrange this which is inefficient to say the least... Please could you urgently give feedback on this and if this will be added, this ticket has been open for over 4 years now and I don't see any progress?? Thank you, Ben

I know this link is old, but we're really still hurting for this ability to create multiple return labels on one product ordered. ShipStation, it seems like it must be a logistical nightmare to code for this correction since you've been dragging your feet on a real solution for 6+ years? How about at least making it a little more intuitive for us. All it takes is a button on the return page labeled properly to help us out a bit? Every time I have a new employee try to figure this out it takes them 30 minutes to an hour to decipher your instructions on how to do it... Maybe even create a quick 60 second "how to" video for your loyal users. Then at least you'd have a place to direct us for directions for the "official" solution... Thanks for listening! Hope to see some improvements soon!!

"UNDER REVIEW · ADMIN ShipStation (Product Owner, ShipStation) responded · May 23, 2017 Thanks for your input, everyone! If you’re creating this return yourself from a previously shipped order, you can create however many return labels needed. Once you’ve created the return label (within the shipment detail screen) for the first line item you’ve selected and created the label, you’ll stay in the returns screen in the order detail screen and press the blue + New Return link. This will allow you to create separate return labels for your line items. If this doesn’t work for you please let us know!" This does not work for us. You are missing the point. Creating shipments over and over again costs more than 1 shipment with multiple boxes. We get hit with surcharges. USPS does not do surcharges, but Fedex/UPS/DHL/literally any other shipper will hit you every time with added fees that would only happen once with a multiple box shipment. It amazes me that you haven't consulted anyone that has a contract with the listed carriers. Your solution is not good, it's a workaround that is costing extra. We need a real solution for the actual problem, which is not simply one of convenience.

We ship large furniture items in individual boxes, and since we rent them, we want to be able to print return labels for every item, not one return label for all combined in one box. Our furniture items ship one per box, there and back. Can I have a plus sign to ship multiple boxes back please, just like creating boxes for the original order shipment? This also affects the multweight discount, so they need to be 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc to get the discount with the carrier.

As a furniture rental company, we really need a label for each rental item to return to us. It seems a little like overkill to have to create a whole new return order to ship something back from the original order. It would be a lot simpler to just give us a duplicate return service for each label produced on the original order. This is a critical part of our business process, and this multi-package returns program would be exceptionally valuable to us.

I completely agree, we use shipstation for big wholesale orders with multiple packages and even return for some time a mistake or not selling, to have to do this as multiple shipments is totally uneconomical! It is cheaper for us to go out to a separate company to arrange this which is inefficient to say the least... Please could you urgently give feedback on this and if this will be added, this ticket has been open for almost 7 years now and I don't see any progress? Thanks Joel

Please add to the returns to be able to generate multiple packages as you have when you wane send a order Thanks Joel

The functionality (while limited) is there to have single line items comprised of many shipments, but the returns feature set doesn't exist.

  • September 22, 2020
It makes no sense at all not to have a multi package return feature. Every order that we ship is a multi package event and not having the ability to return multi packages is a very time consuming task. PLEASE add this feature!!!

  • September 24, 2020
Yes, PLEASE add this feature. The workaround for this is to create another warehouse location for your customer and then create an order with your address as the destination. OBVIOUSLY, not ideal! So simple to add the same logic from your standard shipping logic, where companies allowing multi-package shipments allow for additional packages to be added through the UI. We specifically need this available when creating a Return Shipment on the fly through the customer page. We have customers that send in inventory from a quote we provide on their overstock, we need to provide shipping labels for this inventory as we pay the shipping.

  • September 24, 2020
That's fine if all the packages are a separate line item which our are not. One line item has multiple packages. "Thanks for your input, everyone! Just did a return that cost me $350 more than outbound because shipstation does not do multipackage returns before realizing what it was doing. The only workaround is to make the customer one of your warehouses and then ship the packages to yourself? Absolutely ridiculous that this has been asked for so many years without any movement.

  • July 6, 2021
Agree...This should have been addressed years ago. We need the ability to print multiple return labels for each line item. Each product (single line item) sold by our company comes in multiple packages.

  • July 6, 2021
Couldn't agree more! We've been asking for this for years!

  • November 12, 2021

We badly badly need this as well.

8 years later and this is still not resolved.  How is it possible that this is still not done?  Major drawback..

We work with Home Depot and they require return label with every shipment. We can't provide this with Shipstation because the feature does not exist.  Why?

What is your solution?  Split a 9 piece order into 9 orders and create return label for each.. You call that a solution?  Do you realize how much more money it costs to ship items separately and return separately?  How much more work this ads to our workflow?    You guys are supposed to make things easier for us, not harder.  This needs to be taken care off.  You guys can't call yourselves a shipping Nirvana if you can't create multiple return labels.

Marcos_DCT

It has been nine years since this request was posted, yet nothing has changed. Why would it take you guys so long to take care of this or reply to the issue at hand?

Multi-box shipments and returns are a must for any company that ships regularly. The length of time this has been requested and not fixed is really not a good look. A shipping platform should make all shipments possible, it's that simple.

Hey there!

Thank you for making your immense desire for this feature known! I assure you, this is being talked about within our teams.

In the mean time, I would like to provide the automated solution that we currently have available. I know this will not be a perfect solution, but I want to provide what I have until there is an update. Please check out this section of our knowledge base all about automating return labels.

I hope this can help!

  • April 1, 2022

Not only that is not perfect, that is not even a solution.  The only solution is to make multi box returns available.

For now, unfortunately we have to go to Fedex.com to do our multibox returns.

Hi @milan

I'm sorry that this wasn't a viable solution for you. I assure you that this feedback is being reviewed.

When I have any updates on multi-package returns, I will update this thread directly!

Davis, I don't believe this is being taken seriously a all seriously.  A perfectly good feature of splitting orders was screwed up  in the new version and this was not rolled out.  Not only it was not rolled out, now the system won't even print shipping labels if the order has multibox shipment.  Shipstation is getting worse and worse.

Why don't you let us vote before you change any major features?

Send an email to people and see if they want this feature instead of just having us come here and vote.  By the way, how many votes do we need to get multibox return shipments feature?
