It would be incredibly helpful if ShipStation could import Harmonization codes from Shopify for international orders automatically. I was able to enter all the information manually, but it was time consuming, and could have easily been done automatically, given that the codes exist in Shopify, and ShipStation requires them.

Agreed. It's incredible time-consuming to enter HS codes into Shopify, and to see those not pulling through to the labels is really frustrating. Thanks!

really surprised its not a basic supported field to pull from , this is def a must .

I'd love for the Harmonization code to pull automatically from the Shopify product info as well. Did anyone figure out a way to make this happen?

  • February 26, 2019
Harmonization codes should pull from Shopify automatically. Short of that, when I enter it in manually for individual orders, there should be a checkbox to save what I enter to the ShipStation product page. This way, I only have to enter it in once.

Same applies for WooCommerce. It's unbelievable that this hasn't been considered yet. At the very least, we need a way to pull more data for each product from the source to allow us to assign "Tags" and then automatically apply the rules from "Preset Groups" based on these tags. Manually having to add this data, or assign the group is hugely time consuming and defeats the point in moving to ShipStation for automation purposes.

Shipstation should be able to import all product HS Code, weights, country of origin data and all related customs data from Shopify.

We do a lot of international orders and this is so time consuming to enter this manually when the field already exists in Shopify and could easily be mapped. Please work on this one!

Agreed. This is is a big pain

If the connected shopping cart supports HS codes for products then they should be imported in shipstation.

The functionality of adding CPF codes needs to be expanded and implemented better. I have read the workaround listed here for Brazil: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038650071-Shipping-to-Brazil. However, Shopify has made its users aware that what Brazil is requiring is also required in Italy, South Korea and China (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/understanding-shipping/understanding-shipping-labels) The implementation of Customs codes for receivers needs to be boosted much higher on the list, especially with new trade agreements that are currently in fluxx.

Given that in the UK it will be a REQUIREMENT for HS codes to be given at time of posting, it is really important that this is implemented ASAP

  • December 11, 2020
Unbelievable this isn't natively integrated into the Shopify Shipstation app.

  • December 17, 2020
Country of Origin could also be easily pulled from Shopify alongside the HS Codes....

  • February 24, 2021
With more countries requiring customs codes, the onus is on ShipStation to create an algorithm to pull this data from the Marketplace (Shopify, or others), and have it imported into the appropriate text field for use with shipping labels.

  • March 15, 2021
how has this not been implemented yet???

  • May 10, 2021
Shopify stores and shares product information that should be loaded into Shipstation ie. Product Weight, image URL's, and HS Codes aka Harmonization Codes. This is currently only added to products in Shipstation via csv uploads but this really should be automated, the information is there to sync. Additionally, if you have multiple stores one Shipstation account the products should be associated to the store that is syncing the product, right now I'm told the only way is to add 'tags' to associate the stores to the products.

Surely this has to be on the cards, a more efficient process saving time and resource.

**** developers, this is very important now that it is mandatory! Not only for Shopify but others as well. It would be great to be able to import directly from the stores, but also to create an automation. For vintage sellers, we only need one code: 6309.00.00 which is for second hand goods. User story As a vintage seller, i would like to automatically apply one HC code (it is the same for all second hand clothing) while retaining the rest of t the customs information imported from my order so that i can save time and comply with the new European regulations

I just realised that this was not a feature and am so surprised!

At very least, this should be a search feature like Shopify has, but it makes so much more sense to scrape directly from the source...

I'm struggling to believe, after all these years, that this feature wasn't implemented (even as an option) and that we didn't hear anything from developers about this issue. We are having to manually add each HS code every time a product is added or its title is modified on Shopify's end, even though we already have the info in Shopify.

Hello Community!

You spoke and we listened!

I'm delighted to announce a much-requested and anticipated new feature with ShipStation and Shopify

ShipStation Merchants can now import Harmonization Codes from Shopify!!!

Benefits of the new feature:

- Better Compliance for cross-border shipping
- Trust that packages won't get delayed in customs
- Convenience/Deeper Integration: no need to set this up separately inside of ShipStation. Only need to set up once in Shopify.
- Can be customized and enabled per Shopify store basis

The feature can be enabled today via Shopify Store Settings.

This help center article includes a step-by-step guide on how to enable this feature for your account.

Best,
Maia

@maia-product , that is great news! I can't seem to get Country of Origin to pass through as well.  The CoO is China but it simply puts US instead.

Hello @drew3!

Thank you for your post! I checked in with support and this is expected behavior we only import the 6 digit HS code itself, not the country of origin at this time.

Hopefully this puts your mind at ease!

Happy Shipping!
