We need doctabs available on ShipStation! 4x6.75" I hate when my shipping manager says they like ShipRush better!

  • March 15, 2016
Please make other labels available. Especially the 4x6 with DocTab. It is crazy that SS only has limited label stock it can work with

Hey @Mano Miyata Best Damn Beauty LLC - Thanks for chiming in, do you have examples of what you'd like to see on the doc tab or have thoughts on the other comments below?

Having doc tabs would be super helpful. Even a barebones implementation of supporting 4x8 labels and letting us customize what to print after the end of the shipping label would be super helpful; right now we use a somewhat customized pick list as our 'doc tab' to store with our physical invoices, but we really don't need that much label. Letting us print a few things on the end of a 4x8 label would cut our label usage in half.

I agree with ASP,Inc we just need Shipstation to support printing 4 x 8 labels and then allow us to customize what goes on the top or bottom of the label. It is great for adding a logo and marketing message.

Provide additional shipping label size.

Currently, we are printing on 4x8.25 label stock, but the ShipStation label is only occupying 4x6 of this space. When we instead use the UPS Worldship application (our legacy solution) to print, it allows us to use the full 4 x 8.25, and the extra 2 inches can be filled with some graphic content such as promotional messaging. As we transition from Worldship to ShipStaton, we would like to be able to still print this larger label format with the additional space for graphics.

Hi! At this time, the only label formats that the carriers send to us is the 4"x6" option. And while there are no immediate plans to change this format, we'll keep you posted if any changes are made!

Please prioritize this feature. Would make a big cost, environmental, and marketing impact. We can help code

Has there been any progress by Shipstation to make this option available? This seems like a simple integration and would be very helpful for us to have available.

I also back this solution. 4x8 labels provide much more room for customization, messaging, company logo, additional order info etc. I assume that this has not been integrated so far because not every carrier uses the 4x8 label, in fact this may only be a UPS option. If you developed a 4x8 label option you'd have to be able to limit it to just UPS accounts. That's probably harder to do from a development point of view. 4x8 labels are the way to go though. Or at least let the customer to specify their own custom size label specs.

Hi Shipstation, We need to custom the label like attachments. It can be printed by UPS worldship, but can't print in shipstation. Please kindly help. It's actual size is 4*8.5 (top sticker is 4*6 and bottom sticker is 4*2.5). The second sticker has the PO# / Weights / and tracking #. It is standard with UPS worldship. Thank you

Doc tags are essential in keeping a physical copy with paperwork. We tend to take doc tags which have tracking number, weight, and promised shiprate and attach that to a copy of the invoice. We hold onto that because FedEx/UPS destroys tracking data after 18 months. We've had need to lookup packages that were 2+ years old.

I strongly support this feature which will be very useful to have the packing slip info on same label so we place the shipping label on box and the small packing slip inside. It is also very convenient to prevent confusion which shipping label goes to which order, since it has all order info on same label. Thank you www.onlinelabels.com/Products/RL2762TT.htm

Please add doc label, standard label provided from UPS - "Direct Thermal Label - 4" x 6.25" Roll" https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/supplies-forms/special-labels.page?

hope we can have the option to print 4x8 format , because now the sku number on the label is to small , we ship wrong item quite often

We are running a trial of ShipStation now, and this may make or break our decision to sign up. Doc labels are indispensable to our work flow, as they contain information that informs every department along the way to shipping, such as which product(s) should be in the shipping box, which box size to use, and whether or not to pack our shipment on ice (our products are perishable). We would love if ShipStation could add this feature.

These are by far the most useful types of labels for us. Currently, SS is only able to print a packing slip on a second 4x6" label. We are hoping to have the option to use the 4x6 type with an additional 2x6 receipt portion that can be removed separately.

This is very useful feature and helps control accounting issues... Worldship and fedex provide top or bottom doc tab... We need to be able configure this ourselves or take standard format that fedex & ups provides.

  • January 17, 2019
Currently we only have these labels. Therefore your direct print options are useless for us. We use for internal filling purposes typically it has a tracking number. At the very minimum add one with a blank 2" at the buttom so we can use that then you can and should make more custom field placement options.

please add this feature! we batch-print our labels to save time and we need a packing list alongside every order. printing a separate packing list is overkill and would slow us down, but it's critical to have a short summary of the package items alongside the shipping label. for us, doc tabs with packing lists reduce error rates and speed up our shipping flow. it looks like we will either hire a developer to splice apart shipstation pdf batches and add the doc tabs programmatically, or we'll switch to shiprush.

For our uses, doc tabs would be super helpful as a receipt for our internal customers. When the Finance dept wants me to overnight a check to a vendor, it'd be nice to be able to provide them with a doc tab that I can separate from the label (like a 4x8" label with a 2" perforated doc tab) with all the relevant info (date shipped, dimensions/weight, tracking #, shipping service, etc.). It would be easier and less wasteful than printing a second label. Plus it would be compatible with WorldShip. Please consider.

UPS Worldship actually saves their doc label configuration as an XML file in the Worldship folder (or network share if you have it set up in a host/client config). This XML file contains all the field names and coordinates for the information to print on the doc label. It seems like it would not be much work to build something to read this file and set up the settings in ShipStation to print the same label. Seeing as ShipStation already integrates with stamps.com (which already provides printing for the 8 x 4.25 label format with a doc label) that should be able to be taken care of as well? It seems like a huge oversight that ShipStation does not support this feature.

The 'Reference' number (order number) on the regular shipping labels from FedEx are super tiny. So hard to read. Our local FedEx rep suggested we use a dock label. The peel off part would most likely show a larger order number. Help!

These labels by UPS offer the ability to print the label summary on the 2" bottom section. Can we have this label available to print this info. we use it to stick to our pick tickets as proof of shipment instead of having to write it out.
