Parcelforce Integration - Multi-parcel Shipments

Hi there,

We are in the process of migrating from Parcelforce's old systems to their new system integrated with Royal Mail along with all of their customers.

We have activated the new Shipstation integration with Parcelforce, however we are getting the error "The selected service allows only single-piece shipments" on their most popular services Express48 and Express24.

On the old integration multi-parcel shipments worked fine with Express48 and Express24.

Is this really the case, and if so why? This change makes Shipstation nearly as good as useless to us as most of our ParcelForce shipments are multi-parcel.

Hello @info196!

Thank you for your post in the community! I connected with our development team, and they shared some helpful context. With Parcelforce integrating into the Royal Mail network—which currently does not support multi-parcel shipments—ShipStation is presently only able to support single-package shipments for Parcelforce and Royal Mail.

The good news is that additional product development work is already planned for the new year, which will help us move toward supporting this capability in the future.

In the meantime, we do have an alternative option for the holiday season: if your workflow allows, multi-package support is available through the ShipStation API. This may be a helpful workaround while we work on expanding in-app functionality.

We truly appreciate your patience and feedback as we continue to improve the experience.

@CaraAdmin thanks for the reply!

Does your team have an idea when this might be implemented in the new year? This will determine whether we make moves to an alternative provider to replace Shipstation as the current scenario cannot go on for months on end.

Thanks,

I've just had the below email from Shipstation advising we are being force migrated to the new integration at the end of this month, with around 2 weeks notice.

Email: https://21675739.hs-sites.com/action-required-new-royal-mail-parcelforce-integration

We still cannot generate multi-parcel labels on this new integration you are giving us 2 weeks to migrate to, over the Christmas holidays.

..has anyone at Shipstation put much thought into this migration?

I’m joining this thread to express the need for this feature to be implemented ASAP.
We have many shipments daily that span well over a single box, sometimes as much as 12-15 boxes in a single shipment. In the past with Parcelforce (and currently with Royal Mail too) we had discounted rate for subsequent parcels. I am unable to take advantage of this discount if I have to ship everything box-by-box.
I am currently using the old parcelforce.net website for these shipments, but it’s tedious and very manual.

I am (and probably a lot of other Shipstation users too) in the need of a working solution for this.

@CaraAdmin - I was just wondering if there is any update on this at all?

Would love to know where we are with the integration.

Thank you in advance

NorthumberlandH

I’m adding to this. We too have recently moved to Parcel Force and Royal Mail and find the situation around multi-parcels ridiculous.

It works with other providers so why can this not be done with Parcel Force? It means we cannot take advantage of the reduce rate on multi-parcels and is costing us alot in lost savings.

Is there any update on when we will be able to select multi-parcel for Parcel Force on shipstation?

As others have said if we can’t have this feature soon we will have to look to move away from shipstation.

We too have this issue! We were forced onto the new integration by shipstation themselves as they stopped the old integration! We have had to wait a few weeks for Parcel Force to assign us new details for the new system as they weren’t ready to move us, and now we have the new details we can’t send multi box shipments which is very important to us!!

Why turn the old one off if the new integration isn’t complete and ready?? Makes no sense! I can see this thread is very old now, so we may have to find another company too!

Glad to hear it’s not just us.

From what I can tell there is still no update from Shipstation on this.

This issue has already cost us hundreds of pounds in additional carrier charges due us being unable to utilise the subsequent parcel rate on multi-parcel shipments.

We’ve had the below response from our account manager. Will stick here in the absence of any other update from Shipstation..

“I am afraid I gave you incorrect information this morning. The carrier partnership manager has since got back to me and told me that the integration for multi parcel was not in fact completedfor ShipStation, and the eta will be for end of May.”

@info196 I hope your update is correct, I emailed again this morning, and was told still no time frame but “its a priority”
We have started the ball rolling with getting a quote from linnworks and will see what they can offer us, as we can’t sustain the price difference between single and multi consignments. They have assured us that they have the capability

Any update on this? We’re now in July and still can’t ship multiple parcels with Parcelforce.
