Scan and store serial numbers of shipped orders

We'd like to be able to scan outgoing products and associate them to their orders as they are being shipped out.

It'd be a great feature to allow scanned product serial numbers to be stored and associated shipped orders.

Would love to allow ShipStation to a) scan our serialized products with the mobile app to b) add those serial numbers to the packing lists for the Orders and c) be available via the API so those serial numbers can be referenced by our ecommerce platform (WooCommerce).

Hi, We need to add two serial numbers of some items before they are sent. We would like to have the option to add a required field to scan a bar code. After it's scanned (and would be beneficial to mandate amount of digits, to verify correct scanning) it automatically moves on to next field.

Would be great to have a field that let's us store the serial number of a specific product in an order before shipping! Also, put a logic in place saying, if products needs a serial number you can not ship the order if this field is empty.

We would like this as well and have that information then pushed into our Shopify and most wanted is to push into our Quickbooks. This is very difficult for customer service to track all these down when they are not within our main accounting system. It messes with inventory not reducing out the SN# so we spend man hours each week updating this info.

Shipstation adapats slowest. I only use it because it simply works, otherwise no feature addition for the growth of their customers. This is a badly required feature, not too complicated either.

Yes,  but if they do not have it I will have to leave SS. Does anyone have another solution that can do this.

@Moderator-Davis  When do you expect the feature of storing serial #'s to be enabled? On my end, there is a significant change that could possibly drive us to opt for a different provider. We currently do 700 to 2,500 packages per day. Please advise. Thank you!


@Moderator-Davis Is there an update on this?  I mean how long does it take to act on a request that multiple users have requested to be added? 


@Moderator-Davis is there any update on this? This was questioned nearly 5 years ago? With the huge influx in tech brands this is something that would help a lot of us?

Definitely need this functionality? Especially the ability to add multiples to a shipment as we sell to a lot of resellers and need to associate individual SN#s  


@Moderator-Davis, Have you made any progress on this issue? Is on "investigating"since 2022


Literally looking for this feature as well. Currently have three shipstation profiles active. 


They will never add this. They would rather just make the dashboard look more modern than add functional features.
