When you say "low positive impact" you aren't thinking about the customer that ordered the item, waited 3 to 5 days to receive it and then realizing that the item they received was not what they ordered. Maybe its just our business but customer experience has the highest impact on company decisions. A shipping software should definitely provide away to verify contents in the shipment.

Even if you make this feature an up-sale, I would still purchase it.

Yea I hope this can be a thing, we use a shipping software currently that does it and it drastically reduces shipping errors. We want to fully change to shipstation and this feature would allow it.

This would be an extremely helpful feature to have within ShipStation. It is unbelievable that this incredibly desired feature (as shown by it being #1 by over 200 votes) was proposed over a year ago and is apparently not even an on-deck feature yet. We are really disappointed in this lack of response to the community.

WE have been using GroovePacker.com for this feature in the mean time.

This would be an incredibly useful feature for us! We have slow times in the winter and our full time staff will ship, but in the summer we hire more help and this would be an invaluable feature when it comes to newer staff that aren't as familiar with the product.

Hi Shipstation Team, The fact that this feature is not there is forcing us using another software that integrates with Shipstation, for inventory management of the channels and having this scanning feature to avoid the packing mistakes. Will be great to have it with Shipstation. Thanks.

Hey guys, I see that the status went from planned, to under review. Also, the first time it was planned was back in 2013. Is this something that is do-able? or should we look elsewhere. Thank you.

Since this is the most voted for request (by almost twice as much as #2 on the list) I'd say that this discussion is still "active" I'm not sure what else we can say to get the developer's attention. This most recent comment by shipstation seems to be a general reply that I've seen in many other threads. I wonder if they even read this, or better yet, if we could get an actual answer about this particular topic. It's been over 5 years people!!!

Please. Just, please.... This feature would allow us to continue to use Shipstation. We need the ability to scan items as we pack to increase accuracy. Have been waiting for this and will eventually need to find another solution as we continue to grow due to the importance of this feature. Thanks for listening.

Why is this not completed? It was planned and is back to under review.

I really need the ability to scan UPCs while packing an order so that my team can avoid errors. We already use ShipStation for picklists, so we'd like to scan while picking and packing in ShipStation also. Then a feature could be toggled on an off not allowing a shipment to get shipped until it's been scanned and completely packed.

I agree this would be huge feature for shipstation. We sell 25,000 different SKUS so there is alot of items our shippers never see before. Verification is very important. 1) Scan packing slip 2) Scan Barcode 3) Will give you a green light if barcode matches order, red for fail. Won't let you ship unless green.

Yes yes yes! Love this! I'm looking for third party software to do this for me but I would LOVE to stick to ShipStation for as much as possible.

Any updates?

I am sure someone has already said this but SKUVault is the best solution for this part of one's e-commerce operations. They do a ton more than this but it is one of the best time saving features of their platform. I am not paid by or an employee of SKUVault.

This would make shipstation perfect in my opinion. Employee mistakes are my number one bad mark in the ecommerce world.

Having this feature is extremely important to all of us who have commented. Some of us are using yet another software to help fulfill this need; we are using GroovePacker which means we have one more software license to pay for. ShipStation could drastically improve their product by adding this feature, and it would save money for many of us.

Yes, this would benefit many of us. My shipping staff occasionally will send out the wrong item. If we could have Shipstation automatically select the oldest open order with the scanned UPC that would decrease our shipping time significantly and decrease wrong item's being sent drastically. The less human error we put into the equation the greater the experience for all involved. We would just need to upload all of our product UPC's, or better yet have Shipstation pull that data from Channel Advisor (or other inventory management solutions) when the orders import. We were using shipping easy for awhile, but we switched to ShipStation for the extra features and overall ease of use. We would love to help make ShipStation more robust and it will help many sellers. Thanks!

As our number of orders per day grows this becomes more critical to our business. Does anyone know of a third party that integrates with ShipStation that can provide this capability?

  • December 1, 2017
previous system that I use would require me to scan invoice to print than scan the product again to make sure it's the correct item, this is very helpful

  • December 10, 2017
A must have. We have started with Groove Packer also simply because ShipStation doesn't offer a scan and verify.

  • December 13, 2017
Another year almost over, coming up on 6 years since this TOP VOTED FOR feature was requested. Come on Shipstation, at least tell us you have no plans on ever doing this, if that be the case.

  • December 20, 2017
Where are we on the development of this? I am getting ready to bail on you guys if you cannot reply.

  • December 20, 2017
Hi @MrFent37, thank you for checking in. This idea is still on our radar and we're still interested in pursuing a way to help you verify your shipments. Currently, we don't have a timeline but will reach out to the active folks here in the product feedback forum when we have questions.
