It would be nice if we could split multiple orders simultaneously. We usually deal with 10k + orders that we have to split. It takes up a lot of time to split these orders especially since my team is small. This would speed up our process.

In my case, there are times that I will get an order for 15 items that need to ship in separate large flat rate boxes. So that's 14 separate split operations with the current split function. Customer is in zone 8, so it makes sense to ship separately. But there are times that sell 2 or three, to a local zone, and don't want them split since we can UPS them in one box. Everybody has a different use case, I know. So while a product-level setting for "This always ships by itself" might be useful, I would still want to be able to do splits based on more than on attribute in the rules. (If zone > 6) AND ...etc etc While you can split an order into two, and then take the order that has multiple items and split it again, you have to keep initiating new splits on one of the orders. -- I think the original request was to be able to have a way to say "Split order" and then from that one window, create three or more orders. Here is an example I run into very often: A customer orders 15 of something. Each one has to ship separately, via Priority Mail. So I have to take 1 order for 15 x item, and I have to split it into 15 orders with 1 x the item. Think about the work involved, when you have to "Split Order" 14 separate times to get it down to 1 item per shipment with 15 shipments. 15x 14x 1x 13x 1x 1x 12x 1x 1x 1x ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 2x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x 1x

This sounds like a feature I really can use. ;-) Anyway, to reduce the manual repetitiveness of an operation like this would be welcome. When that customer orders a large number of items that all have to ship in separate large flat rate boxes, or you have an order that has to be shipped in 3-4 boxes using different methods... You don't want to have to split off items, then go back to the original to split off more, and then go back to the original to split off yet more. Thanks for bringing this idea back to the foreground.

Yes, it would be a great option to have if we could do a mass split of 550+ orders simultaneously in one click, that would be great. It would save us some time. We usually ship things out separately based on the box dimension / product line

This needs to happen. This should be based on product attribute, that is selected by customer. Either viia produc toption imported via store, or product cloned into SS and attribute assigned to. Ie. Product is dropshipped only? or product is oversized. Either use case would trigger the orders with that item on it, to spit the items matching the use case to the new 'split' order. This I can see as a very useful feature that would save a ton of time for everyone.

yes bump this

I would like to have the ability to mass split orders by product sku. Say for instance your logistics warehouse is currently out of stock of 1 item, and you know it will be two weeks until they they get more stock. Orders with this sku on it can be mass split, so the customer can receive all the in stock products quickly, and then get the out of stock (split) order when it arrives.

Yes please! We have a huge fourth quarter business and every item has to be shipped separately however we have to go in and manual split ever single order that has more than one package. This was a full time job and we had to hire a full time person to maintain JUST SPLITTING PACKAGES!!! AHh! Please fix!!!

Want to be able to split orders based on product tags automatically as they are imported. Should not have to wait until a human is available to do the splitting. Not everyone on our account has access to see all orders so often someone is waiting for the west coast to wake up and split their orders for fulfillment.

I want the ability to have the orders auto split based upon items marked as dropshipping. This can be done by a using product sku, product tag, product vendor ect.... We will get orders that has items we carry on hand and items we have drop shipped directly from manufacturer. We currently only use 2 drop shipers but would save a step if we could have the order divide on hand items and drop ship items. So if we had 5 items ordered and 3 of those were carried on hand, 1 was dropshipper A and 1 Dropshipper B it would split into 3 separate invoices. A step further would be to have it send email to the dropshipper after the invoice is split. Final step further to have full automation would be to have a static web link for each dropshipper that they can log into and enter the tracking number when they ship the order. This would allow them to track open orders and update it as shipped when they enter tracking which also saves you a step because when they send tracking it should update on your end and update ecommerce platform. Having the ability to add notes within that portal would be good as well. For example if there is going to be a delay on the shipment the dropshipper can add a note to one of the orders in the vendor portal that would notify you so you can then notify customer.

We are looking to use ShipStation and also have multiple dropshippers for some orders based on product SKU. Does each order need to be manually split? Is this the only way to handle this scenario in ShipStation?

Shipstation needs this feature. It can take hours to split orders for high volume shippers. We mostly ship 1 item per box and 1 customer may order 2-6 different items. The boxes will have different weights and dimensions and shipstation does not have a way to automate the process of applying presets for multiple item orders of varying weight and size. As a work around, I split these orders 1 by 1 and apply automation rules with the correct weight and dimension for each package by sku. Splitting 100s of orders takes a long time but it is still faster than opening orders one by one to add multiple packages. The current system of adding multiple packages to one order takes a long time and there is no way to lock in a set number of boxes to avoid accidentally shipping the wrong quantity. Example would be a 3 item order from one customer that will need to be shipped in 3 separate packages of varying weights and dimensions. There is no safeguard in place to prevent a user from accidentally entering 2, 5, or 10 extra packages. If you are dealing with a large number of multiple item orders, this leaves a lot of room for potential errors. I know there is a way to apply a package set for multiple items but this does not work for us. The item combination a customer purchases changes all the time. Also, there is no way to see the numbers of packages added in the awaiting shipment screen as a way to verify that they were added at all. You have to manually open each order to view the number of packages added and / or weight & dimensions. There are just too many steps involved and I think there is definitely a lot of room for improvement here.

This would save us a substantial amount of time. We do a lot of print on demand products that fulfill by the print on demand company - we also have multiple products that ship from a couple different warehouses - none of these are drop ship products. While splitting them manually works perfectly fine - it's definitely a time sink and there leaves room for human error in terms of accidentally marking a product that is fulfilled from the wrong location which ends up with the customer not receiving their product and us not being completely aware of it until they let us know.

Let's make this happen! Manual order splitting is such a pain when I know that I'm splitting based off SKU rules that I already use for tagging.

Please jump on this! Bulk Split based off a SKU would be so helpful within Shipstation. Currently you are required to manually split an item off every order which is time consuming to say the least, especially since the split order does not show up immediately within the system.

I'd love to see this feature, or something like it. I just had a batch of orders come in which all contained an oversized item that had to be separated. Splitting out each order one at a time was pretty time consuming.

I would love to see this feature.. we do a lot of series (one a month) and we bill ahead and them split out the order of the monthly item each month and have to do it manually .. I would love to be able to search "hot Cocoa pattern"I see 87 with it and would love to be able to pull that out of all of them.. doing 87 each month and sometimes more on different designers is time consuming..

Like someone said, if you have Print on Demand and in stock items, this is a must have.

I am also interested in this feature, or at least make it so if we receive an order with multiple items, we can have it automatically split based on AUTOMATION RULES. Thanks!

We would love the ability to auto-split orders of certain products to more easily comply with hazmat rules. There is also a more recently suggested duplicate of this feature request that has more than 150+ votes: http://feedback.shipstation.com/forums/330429-product-feedback-fresh-ideas/suggestions/33548551-automatically-split-items-into-shipments-based-on

This functionality would be amazing! We have clients that sell combo packs containing a CD, a t-shirt, and a poster. If I could split just the CD or just the poster from the approx 300 identical orders by isolating an individual SKU, it would save me an incredible amount of time.

For example, we sold 12 packs of Toilet paper and would like for each order that has multiple skus (including TP12PACK) to be split so that the 12 pack will be a separate order. We want to do this because the size of the 12 pack requires its own box and shipping label, separate from the other products. To do this manually for 100s of orders is inefficient when we could instead have this feature on the app, for the purpose of bulky items that require their own box.

Please provide a way to split the contents of several (Multiple) SKU orders at once. We need to send items inside orders to separate fulfillment centers. The Split Orders operation works for this, but doing it one order at a time is ridiculous. If the Automation Rules could actually see the SKUs inside the order instead of seeing (Multiples) in the orders grid then automation rules could work. You can see all the contents inside the orders using the dropdown > at the top of the page, but there's no way to keep this view open by default. So, would there be a way to keep this view open by default so Automation Rules could sort by all SKUs?

I voted on the other thread but why not throw some votes at this one also. Need rules to split orders magically, what a waste of time, the whole idea of shipstation is to let us automate our shipping workflows. Come on guys!

We really need split orders based on automation rules.

It would be so nice to be able to split shipments in bulk. We often will need to ship a few hundred orders that are all missing one or two products. Manually doing this is pretty ridiculous IMO.
