does anyone know any inventory management system can do that? I need a service that can do that know?

I wish I could vote for this a billion times.

A product SKU in ShipStation needs the ability to be marked as a 'Kit' (same as an item can be a Parent or Variant) and by being a 'Kit', it knows it's maximum inventory quantity is that of the lowest-stocked component, and if any of the Kits pieces are 0, the kit itself can't be made of course and will drop to zero as well. We ship patch sets, seat pads, amongst a few other things, and when we want to fulfill two different types of a seat or patch, that get sold as a set, we are just working around it painstakingly.

Has there been any update on this? This would be a great feature!

Same desire for this to be implemented. All you have to do is create one more step during the process of combining a group of SKUs. The option could be called a "quantity" combination, combining two or more SKUs would have the option to assign an integer to the children SKUs. Thus to sync your 2/3/4/5/n packs to your singles, you would combine the SKUs and assign an integer to the each of the children SKUs as it relates to the parent. Thus the system will know to multiply the sale by the integer provided by the merchant, deducting the proper amount from the inventory.

I have seen this option on other platforms where it is functional and working really good with the inventory and all other market places. The platform is seller cloud. we can give the shippers the ability to use the marketplace identifier and build a parent product that has the children under it which are the individual inventory items which can be sold separately as well. i believe shipstation has already developed such concept where you can have a parent product and the children already, the simple change would be the ability to link to the inventory as well as being able to link to the marketplace product identifier.

Is it possible to combine products or have something similar to the parent SKU where the system knows if a product is purchased in a quantity of 50 and we only carry it in a pack of 25, to remove 2 packs of 25?

Yes, this is very crucial to many businesses and I too believe that this would allow better inventory management.

Should be really easy...same as "masking a sku" .... create a new sku with the product bundle, then add the inventory item to the sku to deduct. So, if there are 3 items, it will deduct all 3 from that one master sku. We really need this function as 30% of our products are bundles.

Seconded! All of my votes are used up, though this is a close second in terms of priority. Very crucial to inventory management.

Seconding this. This would aleviate a huge headache for us.

Here's an example of a situation where this feature is needed: -We are selling this particular SKU: ITEM-4PACK on Store A, and using FBA to fulfill orders -At this time we find that we have run out of stock for ITEM-4PACK in FBA, but we still have stock for ITEM-1PACK (same product, but in single quantities instead of a pack of 4) -What I would wish to do here is first set the Fulfillment SKU of the ITEM-4PACK to ITEM-1PACK within Shipstation -Next I would want to create a new automation rule that for every order of ITEM-4PACK from Store A, we adjust the order quantity to 4 times that of the original order -End Result: 1 order of ITEM-4PACK from Store A gets translated as 4 orders of ITEM-1PACK for FBA to fulfill

Has anything been done on this?? This is a MUST have for me, I currently use an App 'Bundle Kits' on Shopify but I am planning to use Shipstation to keep track of inventory for other 3rd party and all inventory management... Hoping they have done something about this.

We currently have 2 customers who sell variety packs online. The order comes in and the SKU is for the variety. We know what the pack is and pull each individual piece from stock. At the end of the day i pull the inventory reports which are now not correct as i had to pull stock to fill the variety packs. I then manually go through the orders figure out how many variety packs we sold and adjust the inventory manually. It is a HUGE pain and a very time consuming job that i am paying someone to do. If SS offered bundles assembly kits that would remove the inventory from specific sku's that would be most helpful!

this is important for our inventory management and we would love an update on when/if this will be a possibility in the near future

We have orders coming from multiple locations including paper POs. Shipstation is the only system that every order flows directly through. Being able to utilize that as an inventory system would be huge. However, we too have bundles and packs that are unable to be properly tracked currently. If it was possible to have product 'x' and 'y' as tracked inventory, and product 'z' that isn't tracked but instead subtracts from 'x' and 'y', that would be super beneficial.

With inventory challenges becoming more unique and specific, its really important to be able to create kits and import products from the sale channels.

We think it would be helpful if we had the option to display the skus and quantities of the Kit components (skuvault) on the packing slips. We sometimes use the packing slips to pick the order, and that would save us time from having to look up what the Kit components are.

Can I get an ETA of when this option will be available? It's really important to be able track linkable assets. Please let me know.

It would greatly help us if SS could deduct inventory from several different products when one SKU is ordered. I.E.: "SKU-A" is made of products "X," "Y," and "Z." When a customer orders SKU-A, Ship Station could automatically remove an X, Y, and Z simultaneously from our inventory. This would help when selling different bundles or kits that each include common parts/products.

Hi, I use shipstation to track my inventory. I would like that when the bundled unit sells the inventory would automatically adjust level of the two (or more) products that are part of the one that sold. I know that I can use alias function to automatically adjust another product level when a specific product sells, but I could not find alias for bundles of products. It would be great to have such option. Agree with previous comments.

This idea represented in 2012 and last year 2017 start reviewing this idea. Please keep us posted on when this is going to be implemented? it is very important to our business model to have such feature in place to manage our inventory on shipstation. Please advise

Hi! Bundles and Kits are product types that we at ShipStation are always looking into implementing, however they present a unique hurdle in how products import from our varying partners. Basically, there's no "one size fits all" approach we could do for making bundles or kits for ShipStation products. Moreover, the only way that bundled items/kits can be supported from all of our integrations is for each item to be considered "one line item". These two factors make support for bundled items something that require a lot of research. We thank you for your patience as we continue to look into how to overcome this hurdle and allow for bundled items/kit support within ShipStation. And keep providing your feedback!

We sell our cards in bundles and a wholesale level so a bundle includes: six each of 6 different cards The bundle has a sku and each of the cards has a sku.

  • February 14, 2018
Yes please, this would make life much easier. Compatibility between pick list and bundles, deducting inventory from individual items that are part of a kit. Or some other similar solution. The apps provided to handle bundles on shopify are sloppy at best. This SKU -> these items.
