It is common practice now to add an upsell app post purchase. Shopify supports updating orders after the order is created - with apps like One Click Upsell from Zipify and Carthook.

This was a popular requested feature on the previous Shipstation communit board before that community board was depepricated. If shipstation supported order edits, support for shopify order holds, or had the option for a delay on orders these apps and the upsell add to cart would work as expected.

Would love to see this supported with Shipstation soon.

Completely agree with this. We have an issue where items that were initially added to order by One Click Upsell are declined by credit card processor after 30 mins. Because there is no delay, the items are added to ShipStation but the customer didn't actually pay for them.

Hey everyone,

I have some great news to share: this is fully supported and solved now!

We have introduced two powerful settings built specifically to handle post-purchase upsell apps (like Zipify, AfterSell, or Carthook) and pre-shipping order edits:

1. Create an Import Delay (Minimum Order Age)
You can now tell ShipStation to wait up to 2 hours before importing new Shopify orders, giving your customers plenty of time to complete post-purchase upsell funnels first!

  • Go to Settings > Selling Channels and edit your Shopify store

  • Locate the field 'Minimum order age in minutes before order imports'

  • Enter your delay (e.g. 30 minutes) and click Save

2. Auto-Sync Order Changes (Use Fulfillable Quantity)
If you make an edit or add an upsell in Shopify after the order has already imported, we can auto-update the items for you! Just contact our Support team to enable the 'Use Fulfillable Quantity' setting on your Shopify store. Once active, any item changes in Shopify will cleanly sync to ShipStation whenever you refresh your store!

We are closing this old feature request now that these tools are live. Thank you for voting and helping us build a more flexible integration
