Update Settings to allow Admins to Turn Custom Field 1 and Custom Field 3 to be required

Thanks for submitting this feature request! Giving Admins the ability to make Custom Fields 1 and 3 mandatory is a great suggestion for ensuring data consistency.

To help our Product team understand the full scope of how this would be used, I'd love to get a little more context about your specific workflow:

• What type of information are you currently capturing in these specific custom fields?

• What happens in your shipping or fulfillment process right now if a team member forgets to fill them out?

The ability to make Custom Fields 1, 2, or 3 required would be a huge help.

Like many other companies, we use these fields to pass information through to the reference number on shipping labels and courier invoices. We enter our purchase order number in Custom Field 1 for every shipment, which allows us to match each shipment on the courier invoice to the correct purchase order in our system.

Because these fields can’t currently be made required, this step is easy to miss when someone is shipping. A missing PO number creates extra work when reconciling courier invoices.

Ideally, administrators would have the option to require none, some, or all of these custom fields, with that setting applying to all users. If a field is required, users should have to complete it before creating the shipping label.

Would love to see this feature come to ShipStation sooner rather than later :)
