With USMCA replacing NAFTA, I would love to be able to print a certificate of origin while printing shipping labels. We do a lot of business with Canada and this would help us save our customers money and thus do more business.

As of right now I need to manually enter Canada orders through UPS Worldship in order for my customers to not pay duty fees...

It would be very helpful if the NAFTA for could pre-filled in ShipStation. We have to do the same thing and process all Canada orders in Worldship. This is #1 Inconvenient and #2 Gives the customer a different user experience.

Agreed. I receive complaints all the time from Canadian customers. Seems like it shouldn't be a heavy lift. Thanks for listening!

Agreed. Shipstation is very convenient, however, the fact that you cannot pre-fill the NAFTA form on shipstation is very inconvenient. Hope to see this in the near future.

Right there with the rest of these comments. Love the program but nafta is a bit of extra work. A lot of our customers are Canadian and we ship from USA.

This would save us a ton of time and headache. We ship a lot of products to Canada and Mexico, and this one feature prevents us from using shipstation for ALL of those orders. It uses a lot of the same information as the Commercial Invoice, it seems this would be an easy thing to implement.

This is *so* ironic since ShipStation promotes itself as making shipping to Canada easy due to NAFTA. http://www.shipstation.com/blog/handling-your-business/start-selling-shipping-internationally/

It is insane that this program doesn't allow you to upload a NAFTA for EDT. We have tons of customers that are unhappy because they had to pay duties when it was not necessary. At the very least we should be able to upload a NAFTA. Seems like a very easy fix that would make a lot of your customers happy.

Yes, we have run into the same issue with DHL. We have to manually type info into the DHL website and select the correct options to avoid having customers in Canada and Mexico pay taxes and duties.

We are experiencing the same problems. We have to manually generate each NAFTA document for all our customers in Canada and Mexico. It is extremely time consuming. It is also extremely frustrating that this not addressed by ShipStation which after is shipping software. This is very much needed! Business with Canadian customers is booming.

The ability to add comments: "Made in the USA", "NAFTA Qualified". Could be added to comment fields on shipment labels (DHL, FedEx, UPS).

  • July 21, 2015
Agreed. We ship an awful lot of shipments to Canada and the NAFTA forms need to be part of this.

Pretty disappointed that ship station can't find a way to integrate this into the custom forms. Our UPS rep was shocked

Just adding to this- I am a Canadian manufacturer/seller, and I need to ship to the US with my NAFTA certificates. Without this function - your system is too risky to use. We can not afford to have our customers upset over duty fees, when we have paid for NAFTA certificate to avoid this. I am jumping ship before next sales season if this is not resolved.

Just registered for ship station and tried to do our first order - as a Canadian business with 90% of of sales to the US it was disappointing to see that the NAFTA paperwork is not inside the program ... what a waste of time... would have been nice to know that before.

Thanks for all of the updates, everyone! We are still researching NAFTA documents. If you haven't already add your votes or add how often you ship to NAFTA qualified countries relative to your other orders to help outline this business need. @Andrew1 - Welcome to ShipStation! Glad to hear you've found our Product Feedback forum. I talked to your Account Manager Kevin and it looks like you guys have already started a dialogue on this. He's going to be a great resource to help smooth out your workflow and to address any concerns you have.

50% of our shipments head to Canada. Looking forward to getting this implemented!!

Very important issue for us. Please do enable NAFTA forms to be sent electronically or printed for Canadian shipments.

This feature would be so beneficial, we're wasting time on our canadian orders without it. Our UPS rep told us that smaller orders (2,500 USD or less i believe) simply need a NAFTA declaration line on the commercial invoice. If that's the case it seems like it should be pretty easy to automatically include a line of text on the commercial invoices shipstation generates

What is the story with this feature? Seems necessary for anyone doing business in the NAFTA geography.

Please, please add this. Thanks!

This is very necessary. We get complaints from our customers in Canada about being gouged with high duty fees because we can't enable the NAFTA statement. NAFTA I hereby certify that the goods covered by this shipment qualify as originating goods for purposes of preferential tariff treatment under the NAFTA.

It's been a year since this was replied to, any updates?

  • September 22, 2016
'@CComptonTheWhiskeyIceCo., there are not any new updates on the NAFTA forms being able to be generated from within ShipStation, but I will update you guys if anything changes on this!

Even if we can attach a nafta document (pdf) to shipments, that would solve this issue. Our customers and us are constantly getting charged for duty eventhough the product is nafta friendly.
