It would be nice if there was a column to show if packing slips have been printed for open orders. That way when new orders come in, you know which ones need packing slips printed. It would help in my workflow at least.

I know you can see if a packing slip has been printed on the shipments page, but that's only for orders that have already been shipped, as I would want it on the open orders page.

This is definitely a MUST HAVE. Any update on when this will be available? It seems like a very basic function to add and honestly seems like a bit of an oversight that there isn’t a way to separate orders by their stage/status (ie: new, printed, packed, shipped). My staff has fo write down the last order printed on a post it note each time they print a batch of packing slips to avoid accidentally double picking an order.

Please get back to us on whether or not this will be added soon or if we need to figure out a different option. Thank you.

Please can this be added. Our current system has this and has stopped many duplicate orders in the busy period.

This is so needed...  It should be fairly simple to display and filter by the "Printed Pack Slip" column.  This would help us tremendously.

This feature also helps when shipstation connect fails to print. The is no error and the order's packing slip is marked as printed. Currently, there is no way to view the last batch of printed packing slips. The only option is to reprint all packing slips and manually find the duplicates. If this column was visible in the orders tab, you could sort by when the packing slip was printed and then attempt to only print those from the most recent batch.

Does anyone currently have a workout around so the same order isn't being picked by two different people?

  • February 23, 2022

The only option i can see is the user has to tag with a tag that says being picked before they print the pick list/packing slip.

How has this not been implemented yet? People having been asking for this since 2012... Seems it would be pretty simple too given the functionality is already available on the Shipments page.

For me, and I suspect many others, this is a deal breaker for using ShipStation... baffled.

A work around i have since found is to get the user to assign it to themselves before they print the pick list, this way you if you add the assignee column to the default screen, other user can see which orders are being picked via the name.

Has anyone heard an update on this feature? I found another idea that is supposed to be for this same feature, and it is marked as complete. However, I don't see any way to show a "Packing Slip Printed" flag on the "Awaiting Shipment" page.

The other idea that was marked "Completed" is Add "Packing Slip Printed" column to Orders section

Hello,

I agree this feature is needed. My company's process is to print packing slips in batches, pick the inventory, then ship using the Scan to Verify feature. This happens multiple times throughout the day. We keep a written log of the last order number printed so we know where to begin printing the next batch. However, for various reasons, older orders are imported late (fraud checks, other holds on the order), which means their order number is in the range of a batch of "already printed" orders. We have no way to identify these orders aside from discovering them still sitting in Awaiting Shipment a day or two later. If the Packing Slip Printed column was in the Orders Tab, we could probably do away with the written log and we would not miss the orders that imported out of sequence.

We need this for our workflow.  Please implement it.

We need this feature also so we do not double print orders. Should be standard by now as so many other shipping software that we've used had this feature or would automatically print when new orders came in.

Yes we need a way to show if a packing slip was printed.

Please put "Packing Slip Printed" status column on Orders page.

We also need this feature.

Just to add to this request,  it would be great to also see it in the log of the Order Activity Tab in the order detail so the timestamp of the packing slip print would be there so users can know when a packing slip was printed and by what user/station.

We could really use this option as well. The problem we have is when new orders come in for the day and we have multiple people printing packing slips, they aren’t always printing them in order from oldest to newest. Since we have multiple people pulling, packing, and shipping we can’t tell which ones were printed and are in the process of being picked or still sitting on the line about to be shipped. Come on ShipStation get this done!

Are you guys seriously sitting on this feature for 10+ years? Can you please implement it?

  • February 29, 2024

I am amazed that Shipstation hasn't implemented this. Especially, knowing that the "Packing Slip Printed" column already exist in the Shipment view (which is useless). It should be in the Orders tab view.

Until Shipstation decides to implement this feature, here's a workaround that has definitely helped us alleviate  the headaches surrounding the printing of duplicate packing slips.

WORKAROUND:

1) Create a tag called "Packing Slip Printed" and choose a green color.
2) When a packing slip is printed, tag the order with this tag.

This way, at a glance, all users will know that orders with a green tag means the packing slip has been printed.

Not ideal because there is manual user intervention, but it does the job. At least until Shipstation does their job.

Hope this helps.

We could also really use this feature. Seems like a no-brainer and prevents us from having to use other manual ways of tracking this.

Is there any update on adding this feature this would save so much time.

Hello, @Cruxmotorsports!

Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your feature request—I’m thrilled to share some great news! Users can now add a 'Packing Slip Printed' column in the orders grid and even filter by printed or not printed. It works like it does on the Shipments tab, giving you more control and visibility!

Happy Shipping!

@CaraAdmin It would be great if you could update your support team about this as I spent about an hour discussing this with them last week and they said it was not possible!!!!! You may want to also check that the support pages reflect this option too (not sure it does or not).
