Starting April 4th 2022, there is a New Non Standard Fee that the Post Office is putting in place. NEW: Starting in April 2022, there will be a new “nonstandard fee” for packages that must be sorted manually by the USPS when the dimensions of the package exceed sortation requirements. Rates will be adjusted based on box dimensions. Packages with length over 22 inches will have a $4.00 surcharge, packages with length over 30 inches will have $15.00 surcharge and packages over 2 cubic feet will have a $15.00 surcharge. This will apply to Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and Parcel Select Ground. This means:Any package size that is over 22 inches will have a surcharge of $4.00.Any package over 30 inches will have a $15.00 surchargeAny package over 2 cubic feet will have a $15.00 surcharge Shipstation MUST show these fees in their price calculation at the time of shipping. Example: My package is 35" long, 10" high and 10" wide. I will be charged $15.00 for the over 30" category AND I will be charged $15.00 for the over 2 cubic foot category for a total of $30.00 plus the postal rate.ShipStation can do that calculation so my shipper knows it is not reasonable to ship that package USPS. Without those fees showing in ShipStation the rate for that package is $18.75 - which is lower than UPS or FedEx and the shipper will send it only to have us charged $30.00 on top of that. Your competitor - Shippo - says they are providing those fees into the calculation once the package is measured and weighed - so that the shipper can make the right shipping decision. When speaking with your Chat Support person Andre' today, he read it to be a charge Only if we don't enter the measurement. I think he is confused with the other NEW Fee - called Dimensional Noncompliance Fee - which will charge you after the fact if your dimensions are wrong or missing. This is Critical Information for the Small business shipper and the NEW Non Standard Fee needs to be displayed as part of the rate in ShipStation.
It would be nice to set an autofunding amount for the Shipsurance to something higher than $10. We get warned several times a day - to add insurance funds - and it tends to close the on-screen shipment without printing the label, causing us to have to goi back and request a label reprint. This is actually a glitch - not a suggestion.
I have set up my Cin7 integration to enter the sales rep associated with an order as a custom field. It would be really great if I could set up an automation to email the right sales rep when one of their orders ships/delivers. Even just being able to cc them on whatever is sent to the customer would be great. At present I can send them a notice when their orders import into ShipStation, or I can send all my reps ALL the notices, but there's no way to hit the sweet spot of "hey bob! You're customer should have their stuff, maybe call them and check in."
In my Woocommerce store, I have a product called "Sprouting Seed Blend," it is a variable product. There are three different "types" of this variable product. In this example, someone purchased "Sweet Greens": The issue is that when I'm on the Scan and Verify page, it only shows the main product name, not the Type, so I have no way of knowing which "type" it's referring to: When viewing the order, it shows the Type as the "item-descriptions", so please also put the item-descriptions field in the Scan and Verify Screen.
In my example, it is Woocommerce, but I doubt this issue is specific to WC. If the customer realises they have given us the wrong delivery address, we update it in WC and then the next time Shipstation syncs, it pulls in the new delivery address, BUT does not use it. Instead it treats it like the original address that has been corrected in Shipstation. So I press revert and it "reverts" to the new address. My suggestion is that Shipstation either automatically adopts the new synced address, or creates an alert to say that an address has changed.
There are still some big missing pieces with the Square Online store! The order numbers assigned to my orders in Square Online are not importing, and instead crazy long order numbers are being assigned in Shipstation during import. It's difficult when order numbers do not match, especially when I am trying to troubleshoot issues with your tech support.
We have some orders that come up with address errors. We have them filtered off to be tagged and easy Filtered. When we are DONE fixing the errors... I want to be able to have that TAG get Removed. There is no way to Automatically do that though. It seems like an Easy update.
As of October 2021 Warehouse Locations are 100% unusable in a production environment. While it is easy to enter a shelf/bin number there is no way to easily view what shelf/bin a product is located in when processing/picking/pulling orders. In its current state the following workflow is required to view a shelf/bin number...1. Highlight all orders you want to allocate...2. Click allocate selected orders.3.perform the following steps for EACH order you just allocated...A. click the orderB. perform the following steps for EACH item in EACH order...a. click an item in the order b. click the inventory tab c. MANUALLY RECORD the the shelf/bin of the itemd. close the popup window.e. click the next item in the order go to step b.C. After you have recorded all the locations for all the items in the order close the orderD. Click the next order, go to a.Warehouse Locations in Inventory Management should be clearly marked as beta or experimental as it simply is unusable in it's current state.
The branded return portal is awesome! I would love to use the feature but cannot based on the return service and package type default. There should be an option to select the original service and package type used on the order. For example, if I use USPS for my default return and a customer has a big heavy item, I tested this on an order by the way, it will cost $90.00 for USPS vs. $40.00 for UPS. If I use UPS for my default service and it's a small light item, it will cost $9.40 vs. $2.80 for First Class USPS. Defaulting to the original ship method on the order would solve these issues. Also, it would be nice to have an exchange option. Or at least a spot for a note so the customer can write "I would like a large instead of a medium". Or the option to select this is a return. Or this is an exchange.
Our fulfillment center uses "FedEx Cross Border" a.k.a. "TrakPak" for our international shipments. This is apparently not supported by Shipstation. Here's an example of one of our shipments: https://fcbtracking.fedex.com/?MyFICNumber=GFL0990US55445444001.In our marketplace, Shopify, we can enter the tracking info using carrier "other", which allows us to enter the tracking link, as well as the tracking number. Using "other" in the Shipstation "mark as shipped" dialog doesn't provide that option.Short of actual support for FedEx Cross Border, it would be great if selecting carrier "other" in Shipstation would allow us to supply the appropriate tracking link.We don't do a ton of international shipments, but it's quite a pain to deal with the ones we get.
Would be beneficial to the customer AND increase efficiency if SS could automatically select the carrier service with the lowest transit time. Transit times for ground vary wildly. For us shipping to Califonia can be 2 days with USPS, 4 days with USPS, and 5 days with FedEx. Shipping to our own state could be 3 days with USPS and 1 day with UPS and FedEx. Its crazy how awesome SS could be if it just started pumping out customer suggestions. A guy can dream right.
Our customer service team would like to be able to search by phone number also to find a customer in the system. This would take an hour to add and make things much easier for everyone.
It'll be great to record and view a log of when and who completed a verified scan and the ability to export the report if an audit is required to show proof the correct product and qty was sent.
I know you can see repeat customer information (history of number of orders, etc) by hovering over a customer's name. Would love to see columns that we could turn on that highlight or put a star if this is the customer's second (or third, and beyond) order. Whether that be tied to the shipping address, or their email I'm not sure. But would love to see a visual star or symbol indicating this isn't their first order with us.
Thanks for getting in touch with us, At this time, ShipStation does not currently support the Hold at Location option for FedEx, which I do apologise for if it causes any inconvenience. However, I do see how this feature could be helpful for a shipper's workflow. Please feel free to post on our feedback forum with this idea. The forum is checked often by our development team, and many of our current features were originally suggestions fro
Especially since COVID we've had a huge quantity of shipments that were lost, delayed, or never delivered. If there was a report that generated a view that could be sorted by the current tracking status it would be helpful. Especially those shipments that never scanned in, were beyond the delivery date, or that had a delivery exception. Normally we only hear when we get a charge back or irate customer.
We currently use the ChannelAdvisor Order ID as our ShipStation Order number, but we still need a way to access the original channel order ID (such as Amazon order number, Shopify order number, etc.) to print on packing slips and send in email notifications to customers. This field is called the "Client Order #" in the ChannelAdvisor connection settings page. Currently, we can choose between "Channel Advisor Order #" and "Client Order #" when setting up the connection between ShipStation and ChannelAdvisor. This means both fields are available in the connection between ShipStation and ChannelAdvisor. We can also request that ShipStation support map the "Channel Advisor Order #" field to a custom field in ShipStation. Unfortunately, this support mapped feature is not available for the "Client Order #" field. It seems like this should be fairly straightforward to implement, and it would have a massive impact on our ability to use ShipStation for shipping notifications. Ideally we would have this available as a secondary order ID field, but just mapping it to a custom field would be a big win!
While on the Orders page, in the past, we used to be able to use the arrows on our keyboard to go down each order while the Sidebar stayed locked to a certain place in the order details. In this case, I used to keep the Sidebar on the "Recipient" section down below to show the customer's address, then use the arrows on my keyboard to quickly scroll through all of my customer's addresses with one button to fix any issues to prevent errors while purchasing labels in bulk. Now, when I try to move down through each customer on my keyboard with the arrow on my keyboard, the Sidebar takes me back to "Shipping", which is at the very top of the order details section. I have to hover my mouse over the Sidebar section of the screen and manually scroll down to the "Recipient" section for each order. Something that used to take 1 second now takes 5. It's not a big deal, but it does add more time to our process of verifying addresses before purchasing postage. ShipStation support has confirmed that freezing the Sidebar has been removed. If that is true, re-adding this function should be relatively fast and cheap to do. It was a real time saver. Thanks!
Hi I pay for recurring weekly UPS pickup, however I had to reach out to Shipstation to see how much I am paying. It took a few weeks, multiple emails and phone calls to find the answer. It would be really nice to have that information somewhere in my account and billing. So I could see for myself how much I am paying as well as having invoices or receipts for tax purposes.
It would be nice to send an automatic email to the customer when an item that they ordered was placed on back order. Or when an order is split, so that they know why only part of their order is shipping, and not the complete order. Thanks!
I think there should be a way to sort by status unknown just like you can sort by delivered or in transit etc both on mobile and browser mode
There is no menu for "Shipping Service" on the Other Actions>Mark As Shipped screen; only the "Carrier" is there. Which causes value "Other" to go to Amazon and marketplaces, which is incorrect/invalid and causes us issues with our account and penalizes our score, and puts our entire account in jeopardy! Please add this much needed simple menu. ("USPS First Class Mail", "USPS Priority Mail", etc.)
It would be great if ShipStation had the ability to select different printers for a particular type of label. The main use case would be around CN22 (4x6 labels) and CN23 (8.5" x 11") labels and routing these automatically to either a thermal label machine or a standard inkjet printer. At the moment, you can only auto route labels to a singular printer.
Hi! When Carrier Pickup works, it's really dreamy. However, sometimes, the carrier doesn't show up or perhaps misses the notification. Or... perhaps the person who said they created a pickup didn't *actually* do it or do it correctly. Whatever the case, it would be helpful for us to have a History Log of all pickups submitted and/or completed. Users could review that their pickups had created and picked up, and 30 days worth of history would be perfect. Can this be considered? Thank you!
Apologies if this suggestion has come in before, but I don't see it. We are attempting to have our customer service reps use ShipStation now to form shipping quotes (instead of using individual shipping entity tools for that purpose). Your Rate Browser works great for single packages, and easily allows for comparisons between our shipping accounts. However, we often are dealing with shipments of several packages per order. With most other such tools we have used, the user can enter in a multi-package shipment (including the parameters for each individual package). And, ShipStation easily allows for this when making labels from a given order form. Would it be possible to add that sort of functionality to your Rate Browser, so that a full shipping cost could be seen for a multi-box shipment?
