We use a 3PL partner. If labels are voided and reprinted by the 3PL, a second postback is not triggered to update the cost and tracking number. This leads to inconsistencies between Shipstation's "real" data and the "old" data that was posted back to our DB. It keeps us from being able to give accurate shipping information to our customers without manual intervention.https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026157751-Void-LabelsAccording to this "help" article, this is how it was designed: "If you create a new label for an order after voiding the original label and reship the order, the store that the order originated from will not be notified with the new shipment and tracking information." This is not helpful, as it seems to intentionally leave inconsistent data between our systems. Could we please get the option to receive a postback when our 3PL voids and reprints a label?
I recently reached out to Shipstation Support and was advised to post my issue here as feedback for the development team. Since updating in early August, Shipstation Connect persistently resets my printing preferences. It also frequently prints to the wrong printer (ie. I select my Brother printer to print a packing slip, and Shipstation Connect sends the document to my label printer instead). It's very irritating for my staff and results in a waste of labels. Shipstation Support attempted to troubleshoot these issues with me but ultimately there was no resolution. The agent said it had something to do with the update, but didn't have any suggestions to fix it.
UPS SurePost does not show in the rate calculator when trying to determine the cheapest method for Free Shipping. Can we get all UPS and FedEx US Postal Delivery shipping methods (i.e. UPS SurePost & Fedex SmartPost) to show in the calculator?
We’ve noticed on shipping labels that the recipient address is always in all caps. We’d prefer it to be in proper case, like it has previously printed for us through Endicia.I discussed this issue with support, and they reported that it is the shipping carrier who determines the formatting of the recipient address. An option to overwrite/disregard this autoformatting would be much appreciated, in order to allow our labels to more properly match our style and brand guidelines.
So I've been chugging along for years now thinking I'd been doing everything right because no carrier adjustments were showing up in my account history and I'd never been alerted to any adjustments. WRONG. I found out the hard way the other day that you need to log into stamps.com, go to reports, then balances (left side) then transactions and scroll through hundreds or thousands of transactions to see adjustments. There's also no way to filter for them.I got hit with over $800 worth of carrier adjustments last year. If I'd have known about this sooner, I could have taken proactive action to avoid most of them. There's absolutely no good reason why this information should not be coming up in the account history in ShipStation. I found out from a friend who uses Shipping Easy (also owned by Stamps.com) that they appear in her reports. This is basic information that every shipper needs to access.
We would like to suggest a mobile enabled version of return processing for our warehouse operation. Currently ShipStation allows for the creation of return labels so that a consumer can initiate a return for a variety of reasons. This is great however, it doesn’t complete the cycle. We need a way for our warehouse team to be able to catalog these returns once they reach our facility so that they can be restocked or destroyed. We need this same functionality for cataloging undeliverable carrier returns. Our clients require weekly or monthly reporting of returns. Right now, we need to do this manually. It would be ideal if this information could be recorded via the SS mobile app. We envision this process to work by either scanning a carrier tracking number or order number when a return is received. The app would then display the original order details. The warehouse could then select the items physically returned, enter qty returned, record the condition and capture images if needed. All of this return data would be held in SS and would be accessible in a returns view, much like shipped orders, shipments, etc. The view would have the same field and filter options as well. The data would also be exportable. This feature could be a billable add-on to the SS platform and maybe another revenue stream for you client base.
I use Adobe Acrobat to change the wording on the ShipStation-generated scan sheets from First Class to Ground Advantage. It does not matter for the scan sheet barcode itself, it matters because the clueless US Postal Service workers at the counters attempt to NOT ACCEPT the sheet because it says First Class -- even though the labels themselves say Ground Advantage! HOW HARD IS IT TO CHANGE YOUR TEMPLATE, SHIPSTATION? Just change it to say Ground Advantage so I don't have to change it MYSELF EVERY DAY in order to keep the USPS counter workers from freezing up like a deer in the headlights. ShipStation, you've had ALMOST FIVE MONTHS TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE TEMPLATE CHANGE!
