We used to be able to calculate exact shipping costs for repeat customers off of an old order. This feature disappeared in the new platform - huge oversight by ShipStation!
I'm trying to figure out how to get ShipStation to automatically apply a tag to order(s) when a Pick List or Packing Slip has been printed. This will allow us to see at a glance what steps have been taken for any given order and reduce the potential for wasting time and effort redoing certain tasks.
The majority of our orders are multi-package shipments. This functionality in ShipStation is lacking. There is an option to add our own Custom packages under Settings however that does not work when creating multiple packages. Please add a drop down in the multi-package screen where the size, weight and insurance amount is located so when we select the custom package the dimensions and weight is automatically filled for each package. This will help with linking up the items/quantity that has shipped under that package tracking. We need to know what item & qty corresponds to each tracking/package. All this data needs to be available in API to send to NetSuite. The current solution of having to split orders is costly, or creating sets, does not work for us.
Basic functionality to allow filtering a search input. example: Search for item name + Unshipped
Any Amazon Marketplace update from unshipped to shipped sets Shipping Paid value on orders to $0. It'd be nice if it could retain this information. We look at shipments to see the amount of Shipping Paid in different circumstances.
We want people to be able to edit or cancel an order up until the point that the order has been added to a batch. Can we have a function where Shipstation will add a note or tag in Shopify when that's happened? I can then sync that with my order edit app.
Hello, There have been some other comments from others on this forum and I would like to add to them - it would be very useful for ShipStation to integrate directly with dimensional scales, like they do with regular (weight-only) scales. We recently purchased a dimensional scale and must use a third party application to bring in the data to ShipStation. This works, however it is slower because of the separate application communicating. Thank you for the consideration.
Hi, I was discussing with support and they requested I post this feature request. When two packages are sent from one order we want to print the item numbers on the separate labels matching to the separate product in the packages. Example: we ship item1 in pack1 and item2 in pack2 on the same order we want each label for pack1 and pack2 to have that item SKU from the Product field in Shipstation.
I would like to have the ability to be able to import customs docs for a specific order as opposed to having to create on the item level
When you are in the Order screen and click on the calculator, it only shows the package rate. It does not show any Flat Rate or Regional Rate options, even though we have those enabled in our account and though it worked fine in the Legacy version. How do we see all the rates? The Rate Browser calculator at the top of the page used to generate a rate for a generic package does show all of the rates, because there is an All Package Types option. That doesn't appear on the calculator associates with an actual order.
Trying to modify a packing slip template and you still use HTML coding. Even your own customer service couldn't figure out how to modify simple features like font size. There should be a simple form builder that allows the user to customize which fields are included on the template, colors, size/ font, etc.
We use Day&Ross for most LTL shipments and they have a good tracking system. It would be great to have them as a 'Mark as Shipped' carrier option so that tracking links work. Would be nice to have a report that shows a shipping label was created but has not been scanned by UPS, USPS or any other carrier.Issues are:- Labels don't always seem to print in batch printing, even though they all show as printed- Labels are sometimes "lost" after printing (I know, hard to believe....)
Often I get phone calls or emails from customers who never got their packages delivered to them, and I had no idea? It would be very useful if the shipstation software would have a column with a "D" as the order was delivered and completed.Or a red mark alert that shows the shipper that the package was not delivered yet and it needs to be tracked!

There are quite a few similar related remarks on wanting more local control versus global control on Pack Slip print options. But it specifically addresses as well what it is doing today and where the issue is for us ;- ONLY being able to specify sort order as Document option, applying to All Packing Slip templates- NOT being able to have different Packingslip Templates being able to print out in varying sort order, i.e. The default for multiline orders, in order by #order number and the lines within the order by Warehouse bin location - as it is today ...BUT - Additionally- for our For single Line orders (and Pack Slip Template) – simply Printing (and effectively) Grouping them by Warehouse Bin location – regardless of the Order #, as we want to be able to visit each bin only once and hence want in order of Bin, NOT in order of order #. As we have a split of 50% multi-line orders and 50% single line orders - we have for this purpose different Pack Slip templates - with slightly varying information but can not manipulate the sort order for Order Documents across the two. I am the CEO of a marketplace where sellers can integrate with ShipStation. I want all of the "Order Shipped" & "Order Delivered" notifications to come from my website for consistency and to make my consumers trust me and not get confused. When a seller links my marketplace as one of their selling channels, I believe the ShipStation "Order Shipped" & "Order Delivered" notifications are default set to off, but the seller can edit these and turn them on. I would like to be able to have control over this for my entire marketplace. For every one of my sellers that integrates with ShipStation I would like to have them not be allowed to turn on these notifications. While they might think that turning on these notifications would be a positive thing, it would send the consumer duplicate emails which will lead to numerous chargebacks.
We have several items that go out every day that are not tracked by inventory. Unfortunately, their quantity is automatically set at zero and will alert our shippers every time they ship one of these items. Not only does this cause delay in the shipping process, it also floods our inventory system with unnecessary alerts. Hiding the quantity will streamline shipping while allowing proper tracking on other items, and will also prevent the alert system from throwing any false-positive errors.
We need to be able to regularly bulk update our product inventory via csv file upload (warehouse location), which is possible BUT the procedure to do so is not helpful. - The template for this to work requires every field of data, even if you are only updating one field.- Blank uploads apparently overwrite populated fields, according to Shipstation support. It would be so much better if we could bulk update product inventory with a CSV file including the unique identifier (SKU), and the one or two fields of data we want to update - and blank data shouldn't overwrite populated data!!!!
We noticed all our UPC codes for 67,000 SKUs are showing up in scientific notation. Product update history shows that on Friday, May 20, a little before 2:00 pm EDT, all SKUs were modified by a file import, but we can't tell who did the upload/import. All support could offer was telling me the most recent accounts to log in before the import took place. Customers should really be able to see who started the import, so they can hold people accountable if bad data was provided in the CSV file.
Hi Guys, I'm using the My Post Business via the Ship Station. At the beginning of the integration process, I've been promised to have the 2 x payment options for the label purchase via the SS. First is the Credit card payment and the second is to be able to use your existing My Post Business account (30 days credit). What we are facing now, by using the only payment option available (credit card).is that the post office is not providing the invoices based on the credit card purchases. At the EOFY my accountant asking me where did I spent all the credit card money, and I do not have any evidence to cover this expense. I'm sure this little issue can be resolved to be able to use Ship Station in the future. Thank you.
We have 165 international orders from a Kickstarter project (along with about 1,600 domestic). The international orders were imported WITHOUT customs information provided. It would be EXTREMELY helpful to be able to "batch" add information for customs to all of these orders. Just fyi, we do not have these orders linked to "products/items." We would simply like to bulk apply information to all of these orders. Unfortunately, there is not a feature that allows me to do so with customs information. Huge pain...
This feature has been broken for over 2 months. Shipments shipped via Amazon MCF and connected via the Shipstation integration aren't carrying the carrier back in the payload. Shopify is smart enough to classify the USPS shipping numbers as USPS and the UPS tracking numbers as USPS, however shipments shipped with Amazon Logistics show up as blank. If the Shipstation/Amazon MCF integration worked correctly and Shipstation actually pulled in the carrier from Amazon MCF, this wouldn't be an issue. Kind of unbelievable this has been broken this long and no one at Shipstation will fix the integration.
Please consider adding "Custom Field 1" as a column under the shipments taborConsider adding "tracking #" under shipped items on the Orders tab. I'd like to be able to pull up orders for a customer and allow them to see the their tracking numbers and their PO numbers (custom field 1 data for us). Thanks.Bob
Nowhere in the documentation does it state that the column headers of your CSV have to have NO special characters, but this is true. Not even a simple hyphen is allowed. However, instead of informing the user of this fact, the system just sits and spins on the "importing" message for an hour or more.Besides adding this to the documentation, there should be 2 lines of code to check the first line of the file for those characters and report an error message to the user. Chat support didn't have this documentation either. We only figured it out because I remembered it happening years ago, and we brute force tested uploading the file without the "#", then without the "/", then without the "-" until we had only the 26 letters of the alphabet, plus spaces, left.This is such a basic thing (importing orders) I don't know why it hasn't come up and been identified, instead of saying "just use our column headers exactly" without knowing why that makes a difference when you're manually mapping columns.
