Build better products with our product team
Hi, ShipStation is one of the powerful and popular app for Shopify order and shipment management. As an online wholesale and retailer, multiple packages are needed for the checkout. The shipping rates integrated from shipstation to Shopify are based on weight. When there are multiple packages per order the shipping rates can be inaccurate and vendors may spend overhead costs just on shipping rates. I personally researched and added additional apps on shopify, adding dimensions and boxes on the product for more accurate multi packages shipping rates. ShipStation can consider adding another feature for customers to add product dimensions on shopify and when someone checkout it shows multi packages shipping rates for a more accurate cost. It is difficult for online retailers to keep on integrate different apps for their stores, this is a good opportunity for shipstation since every feature is available for shipment and order management.
Given the nature of our business, we are constantly updating our inventory locations when we receive new product into our warehouse. However, at this point, the only way to do this in ShipStation is to delete all of our current products and their locations and re-upload everything via a CSV file. This is a very cumbersome process, and I'm sure other businesses have ran into the same issue. At this point, the only way to do this manually through ShipStation is to scroll through a massive drop-down menu of randomized locations. I would like to request the ability to either manually input for inventory locations, or at the very least, to be able to organize the drop-down menu of locations alphabetically. Could this update please be added into the ShipStation portal? Thanks!
Nexternal/Truecommerce is a very popular choice for processing company website orders. I wish there was a way to import the orders into shipstation from my website. Never get a lot of orders but would help remove the possibility of typing in something wrong on the order
Since UPS no longer accepts printed customs documents - it may be wise to allow the Electronic Documentation option for customs declarations within Ship Station A UPS Label prints with a simple scannable section right on the shipping label - and wala! We do not have to have a delay with every single international shipment we ship through ShipStation. Currently EVERY shipment is delayed as UPS no longer accepts the printed documents! Its been since covid! Catch up?
We ship quite a few orders that are multiple boxes. We REALLY need an option to preset multiple boxes... Both online AND the Mobile App.

Parcel force has the ability to have custom messages on the label, this is to allow customers to add delivery instruction for example leave in porch or leave with neighbour. Currently although Parcelforce allows this Shipstation have not integrated this to be available, for us we are having to manually add the delivery messages on the label which is very time consuming. Would it be possible to please add the custom message functionality to the parcelforce labels
Our system was, we printed out picking slips and once the item is picked and placed in a box, it would go to the shipping center in the warehouse. Then our team would create a label and put it on the box, but attached to the label would be a receipt including the tracking number and the shipping cost, which we would attach to our picking slip. Now with ShipStation they dont give you an option to print that additional receipt. I would love it if ShipStation could add this to there software. This receipt makes everything so much easier.
Is there a way to give us a choice of which program to use, when printing out a .csv (for example, a report of postage that I want to print monthly). I know I am not alone saying I detest Microsoft Excel (the current version). What specifically happens is that instead of correct Tracking Numbers, Excel converts them to gobbledygood/abbreviations/code - whatever . Making NO sense whatever, and forcing me to go back in history if I want to find the tracking number of a particular package. Your LIVE CHAT reps have confirmed this is what is going on, and nothing can be done about it, because of the way your system is set up. Can you possibly change this so that when I go to print a downloaded .csv, I am offered a choice so I can pick a program from what I have in my own computer? Not the way it currently defaults into Excel (with no way for me to do anything else). I have MS Works downloaded, and it is so much simpler and easier - !! but I'm helpless because even trying to copy the Excel .csv into MSWorks doesn't work -- i can't get rid of the Gobbledygook Excel makes out of tracking numbers. (P.S. Stamps.com lets me pick which program to use to download this .csv - if Stamps.com can do this- why can't ShipStation ????????)Thank you for consideration.
Most of our orders ship in multiple packages. It would be wonderful if we could have the package description on the bottom of each shipping label, nice and large.Otherwise, we are forced to hand-write this on each label, making the process less accurate and more tedious. Our warehouse workers need to know which label goes to which box, so this is crucial to our efficiency and accuracy.
I would like ShipStation to add a feature where I can type in a reference code during the process of label creation, something along the lines of "PO 100205" or "T-Shirts for Client"... then the reference code pull through to the UPS bill so that we can allocate charges appropriately.
It would be very helpful if we were able to run a report that would show us the product locations where inventory was pulled from to fulfill an order. In ShipStation we are able to add product locations under the inventory tab, however there is not a way for us to run a report to show which locations the inventory was pulled from to fill an order. This feature would be helpful as we ship food products and have to track our product expiration dates and lot codes. To track this we make several different product locations in ShipStation labeled with lot codes and expiration dates and add our inventory to the corresponding product location. Currently we have to manually track the lot codes and expiration dates shipped on each order, but if we could print a report from ShipStation the tracking process would be much more efficient.
I print out a monthly .csv for my records and for tax purposes, including date, customer name, item number, etc. I only need a few; I'm a small business. My customers pay retail rates; and I am grateful for the reduced rates I enjoy through ShipStation, which help offset costs (labels, ink etc) - and allow me to not charge any "handling fees." Unfortunately a couple of the choices offered for my .csv are unclear - the absolute worst being "SHIPPING PAID" - by whom????? I need my .csv to include my charges - what ShipStation billed me -- not what my customer paid. i realize you need to be concise, but "Shipping Paid" is totally unclear - paid by the seller or paid by the customer!? The only way I could find out was to use Live Chat (which is superb -- one of my main reasons for subscribing to SS), so I hope my choices are the way I need them, but if only it said "Shipping Paid By Customer" I would not have had to bother your rep and I could have made other use of my time. Please understand that brand new users may have no clue what is meant, even though it seems crystal clear to ShipStation. Thank you.
When you export orders and create a custom template it is not an option to have the Item that someone ordered exported. It kind of defeats the purpose of exporting. Can you consider adding Item Description to the fields that can be exported when you create a custom template?
Currently our workflow is such that we verify several orders, pack them into their respective boxes and then process them individually. We do not currently use the scan feature as we have struggled to fit our process into it's mold. If the Scan to Verify option could then batch all of the orders that were verified by a user such that they would then only see the orders that have "cleared" the verification process before processing we could greatly expedite our shipping. Once batched, the user could then re-scan the pick ticket to be shipped and proceed with printing labels. We do not have standard boxes, weights and dims, so our shippers must include package specific info for each order and rate shop between USPS and UPS. The Scan to Verify and Print option doesn't work very well with our current workflow and seems to slow our process based on how our products are picked and moved through the warehouse.
It would be nice to have a feature where ShipStation updates warehouse location on a periodic basis. For example, the older orders that we are waiting to receive inventory for, once received, ShipStation would update the location and notify that the order is ready for shipment.
Having the ability to notify customers when a manual order is created would be helpful. Especially since they would not receive an original order confirmation email from the marketplace. This would also allow my particular customers to confirm that I entered all the information correctly and make changes if necessary.
HiIs the VirtueMart integration is possible with the shipstation
It seems it is not possible for customers to download a label from the returns portal, on print. In the case that a customer does not have a printer, the only solution is for the customer to contact the retailer. The retailer can then download it and send it to the customer. This seems a bit admin intensive. It would depend on carrier, but a download option for the customer would be advantageous. Equally, if it features a QR code for the post office / drop off point to scan and print the label for the customer. With thanks
And let's say a package is lost and we send a replacement. And the order is old so cannot get void. It still shows under-delivery exceptions. Is there any way we can get that cleared since the replacement was sent and the problem solved? I do not want to check them again and again. Same problem for Amazon. Since Amazon remove the addresses after the label was created they were stuck at still transfer. I need them to be shown as delivered.
V3 is missing functionality from V2 to print batches and mark them printed directly from the processed batches list. We process batches in one physical location and then print them and track the print status in another physical location. V2 works great because we have a list of processed batches and can print them and mark them printed easily from the processed list. V3 is missing the options to print various documents for a batch from the batch list page - V3 is also missing a column for the printed date.
Hello there I have a suggestion. Not sure if this is something that can be done or if there is a software out there that does this already, but this one thing would make my process so much easier when fulfilling my orders. I sell greetings cards which I print off (from a pdf on my laptop) and send out to customers. My current process looks like this: 1. Orders come into ship station2. I print off a pick list3. I use the pick list to print off the PDF's files on my laptop4. I print the labels and place them on envelopes5. I match the printed card to the order on ship station and place a 'packed' tag on the order to ensure I don't miss any I would really really like it if there was an option to upload a pdf version of the product on the products tab. When each order comes in, you can select the orders and it will amalgamate the orders into a downloadable pdf (in the same way you can amalgamate shipping labels). I then print the cards from one downloaded file. This would save me sooooo much time! If ship station is not able to do this, do you know of any other software that can do something like this? Many thanksSherene
Hi, I recently attempted to ship a package to China (my first international shipment). I filled out the required info for customs on the ShipStation site, but there was no indication that I needed to print the customs documents, or where to print them from. So I shipped the package with just the UPS label, assuming that the customs info was in UPS database somewhere and they could access when needed. A day later, the package was returned to me because I didn't include the customs docs, and apparently I just lost $167 in shipping cost because of my ignorance. This is frustrating because I saw no warning that I needed to find and print the additional documents. So, I'd suggest you add a very visible instruction to print the international customs docs. Better yet, it would be nice if they'd print automatically with the label. Thanks for listening!
Good morning! it would be great if you could integrate FedEx SameDay City Services. we are very interested in adding this to our shipping offers but can't as it is not integrating with ShipstationThanks!
In 2016 StackCommerce took my product viral to the tune of 3 million in sales and 37 million views on our launch video.I now have a new product and am very hesitant to put it on Stack, because if it goes viral, I will have no integration to ship station and will have to manually input shipping addresses like i am doing now.
