Hello,

We're looking for a feature that allows us to restrict order information (e.g. item name, quant, price, ship from location, etc.) at the shipment-level, not the order-level. As of now, any restricted user can see all items within a multi-item order, even items that are not assigned to them once a multi-item order has been split. This creates confusion when users are responsible for fulfilling only certain items within the order, and not all.

Howdy @KnollwoodRoad,

I think this is a terrific idea! I'll move this over to our ideas section so that other wonderful community members can vote on this for potential implementation in the future ๐Ÿ™‚

I think what @KnollwoodRoad is describing is a bug (and kind of a data security issue); not a feature request. The current behavior exposes data between Users in a way that one wouldn't expect, and also contradicts ShipStation's own documentation.

The ShipStation documentation Set User Permissions and Restrictions says "For example, you could: Set up a dropship-style user with a restriction to only view orders assigned to them and shipments created by them."

Actually the current behavior, which @KnollwoodRoad describes and I'm also experiencing, is that there is no way to prevent a User from viewing some Shipments not assigned to them, regardless of to whom the Shipments (or Orders) are assigned, and regardless of whether "restrict this user to see only orders assigned to / shipments created by them" was selected. In my case, a User can click the Shipments tab, then Fulfillments on the left, and they will see a long list of Shipments that have been assigned to other Users. Please fix this ShipStation!
