Automation rule for Hazmat checkbox

We ship predominantly lithium ion batteries with USPS/stamps.com using shipstation.  For these we need to check the "This shipment contains dangerous goods" checkbox under other shipping options.

I can't seem to find a way to automate clicking this checkbox, but this would be a very important feature for us.  I checked automation rules and can't find it as an option, there is only specific ones for dry ice and alcohol.  And I checked shipping presets, and other shipping options aren't a part of those.  Am I missing anything?

If it is impossible, is there some way that this could be done using the API if I engaged a developer?

Not a perfect solution but you can apply a bulk update to all your orders before shipping

Same here. We ship 1 item with an embedded lithium battery that needs to be marked as DG4 for DHL. An automation that checks for that sku and then marks the order as dangerous goods would be very convenient.
