I'm writing to provide feedback on the recent changes to ShipStation's login procedures. While I understand and appreciate the need for improved security and multi-factor authentication, the current implementation has some pain points for us.
Here are my suggestions for improvements:
1. On a Chromebook where I am already logged in and authenticated with a different Google account, I should be able to use "Sign in with Google" without having to enter my ShipStation password AND provide an emailed code.
2. I intentionally use a different Google account for ShipStation login than the Chromebook's primary Google account.
3. "Sign in with Google" should be able to grab the token from the Chromebook. Once linked, it should always allow logging into the ShipStation account without requiring the ShipStation password AND without requiring an emailed code.
4. The emailed code is sent to my personal email address/Google account, which I don't want my employees accessing.
5. The login on our Chromebooks/tablets uses a different Google account, and my employees know the login procedure for those devices.
6. We are a retail store that runs several point-of-sale stations with the same Google account login information. That should suffice to let them log in to ShipStation as well once the link to 'Sign in with Google' is established.
I hope you can develop a login procedure that accommodates our situation.
Thanks for listening,
TIC
