Hello,
I wanted to share a feature request that may benefit other users as well, especially those using ShipStation as a hybrid Order Fulfillment and Warehouse Management solution.
Here’s a quick summary of the use case:
I manage hundreds of SKUs stored in large quantities, and for daily fulfillment operations, I keep 1–2 boxes of each SKU on a designated “Fulfillment Rack” separate from bulk pallet storage. During order processing, we always pick from the Fulfillment Rack first. When a SKU runs out on the rack, we replenish it from bulk storage.
What I’m looking for is an allocation rule that prioritizes inventory from the Fulfillment Rack location before applying standard FIFO (or any other) logic. Specifically:
I’ve reviewed the current allocation rules in ShipStation, but it appears there is no way to assign priority to a specific location or zone during allocation.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this request along to your product or development team. Adding this kind of location-based allocation priority would bring ShipStation closer to functioning as a true WMS for users like us.
