Mapping multiple order statuses

In BigCommerce, there are 14 total order statuses and Shipstation automatically categorizes them to map to their four order statuses.

It would be nice to have additional statuses in Shipstation, in order to better isolate batches.

Specifically, a status for orders that are in the "Awaiting Shipment" status, that have not yet had their packing slips printed.  The status could be called either "Awaiting Printing" or "Awaiting Shipment".

According to Shipstation, on their Bigcommerce help guide article, they are supposed to map the BC status "Completed" to the SS status "Shipped" automatically.  My connection is not doing that when a BC order is created with the status set to "Completed".  It would be nice if this would be working correctly.
