it has just been brought to our attention that if a customer uses a discount code to get discount off their items at checkout -shipstation does not apply the discount codes to the products on shipstation - therefore submitting the customs data at the full original price of the item - not the discounted price the customers paid - therefore creating the import duties and taxes information wrong/higher price then the customer actually paid - therefore causing customs to charge the customer import duties and taxes on the full price of the item and not the amount the actually paid.

 

brought up to live chat and was told the only fix around this - is to manually go into each and every order and manually change the prices in shipstation so the customs information reflects.

 

the whole reason to use shipstation is to bulk print to save time - this is awful that shipstation doesn't currently pull the right price information over and this is a joke of a fix.

 

this needs updating within your shipstation system to bring over correctly any discount codes used/the price the customer actually paid for the items so this reflects in the customs data shipstation is submitting when creating shipping labels.

Thank you for posting in the Community and for clearly outlining this workflow challenge. I’ve shared your feedback with our development team to ensure it has visibility and consideration.

Currently, ShipStation ingests order data exactly as the marketplace integration provides it, and we do not calculate or apply discounts within ShipStation. When a discount (such as a 10% promotion) is sent as an order-level adjustment rather than being prorated across individual line items, we don’t receive sufficient detail to allocate that discount accurately. This makes it difficult to determine whether the adjustment applies to the $20 item, the $30 item, or how it should be distributed across line items.

Feedback like this is especially valuable, as it helps identify areas where additional data from the marketplace could improve clarity and downstream workflows.
