Hi everyone,
I noticed a limitation with the Etsy integration in ShipStation.
If an Etsy listing does not have a SKU, the sku field in ShipStation’s API contains the Etsy listingId.
If a SKU is assigned on Etsy, ShipStation’s API only returns that SKU, and the original listingId is not available.
This is a problem because many merchants need both values:
- listingId for mapping
- SKU for inventory management
Suggestion: Please consider adding the Etsy listingId as a separate field in the Order/OrderItem API response, even when a SKU is defined. This would make the integration more consistent and reliable.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could the ShipStation team comment on whether this is possible?

I understand the reasoning behind gathering feedback, but this isn’t really a feature request — it’s a design flaw.
The current behavior leads to incorrect or confusing results, so it shouldn’t depend on how many users request a fix.
Design flaws should be corrected regardless of popularity. @CaraAdmin

Thank you for your post and for following up! I’ve connected with our development team for an update. At this time, they’ve shared that the missing listing ID appears to be related to a previous version of the Etsy API. They are actively looking into this, and I’ll be sure to keep this thread updated as soon as more information becomes available.
