Feature Request: Import Gift Messages from Turbify (Yahoo! Store)

We are a new ShipStation customer and are very pleased with the product and support so far. We are migrating from our old order management system, 4Psite, which is permanently shutting down on October 31, 2025.

We've encountered a critical issue for our business: Gift Messages from our Turbify store are not being imported into ShipStation. As a gift store, seeing the customer's gift message on the packing slip is an essential part of our fulfillment process.

We have investigated this with both Turbify and ShipStation support.

  • ShipStation Customer Service has confirmed that the Turbify integration does not currently support importing the gift message field.

  • Turbify has stated that the gift message is available via their Order API within the <GiftWrapMessage> tag.

The data is clearly present in the order XML from Turbify. Here is a snippet from a real order (Order #95555) showing the gift message field that we need to see in ShipStation:

Our request is for the ShipStation engineering team to please work with Turbify to map the <GiftWrapMessage> field from the Turbify Order API into a usable field in ShipStation (e.g., the 'Gift Message' field).

This feature is vital for our operations, especially as we complete our transition under a tight deadline.

On a related note, with 4Psite closing, many of their customers are now looking for a new solution. We believe it would be a huge win-win for ShipStation to actively work on making the transition for former 4Psite clients as seamless as possible. Resolving integration issues like this would be a major selling point. I have the CEO's contact information if needed.

Right now, the <GiftWrapMessage> field isnโ€™t available for Tubify ordersโ€”but that doesnโ€™t mean your suggestion isnโ€™t valuable. Before we share this with the development team, letโ€™s see how many other merchants in the Community would benefit from this feature!
