Adding inventory after shipments

We recently received inventory, but it did not get added before shipments were processed. We'd like to still document proper inventory, but I think it might be too late. 

for example, we received 300 books. They were not added to inventory, but 230 went out. sure i can just adjust the inventory to say we have 60something left.. but those that were shipped, are they documents in "items shipped" even though they were not really in the inventory? 

any info is helpful!

Hey there @cphipps, 

The quantity shipped on the individual orders will always show up in that Shipped Items report. However, when it comes to an inventory update in the timing you described, you are correct that you would need update that manually. 

I would also be very glad to hear from some of our other wonderful community members about their specific inventory workflows!
