I have tried working with support to get our automation rules to apply custom package types to our imported orders to no avail. We specify a service such as USPS Ground Advantage, a package dimension and the custom package type that was already set up elsewhere ("White Collar Bag") in the automation rule. The rule saves successfully, but the automation on import ignores the custom package type, simply inserts "Package" into the package type. Wondering if other users are seeing the same problem. The support team doesn't seem to have any answers why it isn't working or any assistance to offer to get it to work properly.

I to ran into this issue. I needed to set the package dimensions as an action type. I was told you cannot set a preset package.

Hello @CandleJay!
Automation Rules and Order Filters rely on the Orders Grid to determine whether they should run based on SKUs or line item names. If an order contains multiple SKUs, it will be identified as "(multiple items)" rather than individual SKUs, which prevents the rule from applying to the order. A helpful workaround is to tag the product and then set the criteria for the rule or filter to "Order Tag includes..." instead of using the SKU(s) or item names.
For a detailed guide on this process, check out our Knowledge Base article: How do I create Automation Rules for Multi-product Orders?
I hope you find this helpful and if you need any assistance setting up these automation rules.
Happy Shipping and Happy Holidays!
