I wanted to write this post to ask if anyone else has run into this issue and to offer what we have found to work.
The tech specs: We are using the most up-to-date versions of everything mentioned as of this post's date. We have a Mac Mini, using Shipstation on Google Chrome, a Bluetooth barcode scanner, up-to-date Shipstation Connect, and a Mettler Toledo BC60 scale. The problem we were having was the weights not being updated inside the Scan to Verify and Print workflow. Other than that issue, everything worked flawlessly. We attempted to change all kinds of settings without any improvement. The scale would work intermittently. When I say we tried everything, I mean everything: timeout settings, refreshes, reboots, reinstalls, scale settings to ensure it is in HIDPOS mode, cache clears, setting product weights to zero before entering workflow, etc. Every change made no difference to the scale, working intermittently only in this workflow. Otherwise, the scale would work flawlessly in every other part of Shipstation - pulling in the correct weight whenever prompted through the 'w' hotkey or clicking on the scale read weight.
By happenstance, we started to use the scale when our Chrome screen was not in full-screen mode on the Mac. When we made this simple change, it began to work without fail. When we went back to the full-screen mode on Chrome, it again either didn't work or worked intermittently. Change back to having Chrome on the main window, and it worked without fail.
Has anyone else faced this problem? If you are facing the same issue and are using the browser in full screen, maybe try using it on the main desktop to see if it improves. My experience speaks to that solution.
