Packing Slip - Incorrect Tax for Shipping

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have had support tickets in with ShipStation multiple times over the past few years with no resolution.

We use the default packing slip, and have found that whilst the subtotal is correctly showing inclusive of tax, the shipping amount is showing is excluding tax, which makes the final total incorrect. We are in Australia, so tax (GST) is 10%, and we need to show our totals inclusive of tax.

An example of a $20 order with $9.95 shipping is below:

  • Subtotal: $20.00 [correct, inclusive of tax]
  • Tax: $2.70 [incorrect but close - should be 10% tax of $29.95, ie $2.72]
  • Shipping: $9.05 [incorrect - shipping should be $9.95, $9.05 is the shipping minus 10% tax]
  • Total: $29.05 [incorrect - final total should be $29.95]

We use BigCommerce to manage our eCommerce store, and this has never been an issue there. In the past we have used the custom packing slip and simply removed the totals information, but we are frustrated at having to pay the extra $$ per month for a "feature" that should just work on the default packing slip. As I said earlier, I have had multiple support tickets in, with no resolution unfortunately. Is this a setup issue that I've made? Or is this just a known issue with ShipStation?

Hi Cara, Thanks for your reply. I have had many tickets in regarding this as far back as 2023, with no resolution. I did recently ask for an update on the situation in May, June and most recently late October, but have not received any responses to even know it's been looked at.
