Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue with ShipStation’s merchant verification and I’m hoping someone can clarify the correct fix.
I recently updated the payment method on my account to my business credit card, but now ShipStation is requiring me to complete Plaid verification to remove the $25 spending limit. The problem is that Plaid is only offering SSN or ITIN as verification options — there is no option to verify using my EIN or business information.
From what I understand, Plaid should only be required for bank account verification or for business accounts using ShipStation Balance. Since I’m using a business credit card and operating as an LLC, it seems like my account may be incorrectly classified as an Individual/Sole Proprietor, which is why it’s forcing SSN verification.
Can someone from ShipStation please confirm:
How do I get my account classification updated to Business/LLC so Plaid allows EIN verification instead of SSN?
Alternatively, can ShipStation Balance be disabled so Plaid verification isn’t required when paying with a business credit card?
I should not be required to provide my personal SSN for business verification, so I want to make sure my account is set up correctly.
Thank you in advance to anyone who’s run into this and can help!
