I understand that most freight carriers are behind in technology and don't link with most shipping platforms. So the dream is to have major freight carriers linked.
However, it shouldn't be too difficult to be able to add custom carriers that are not linked - just as if we selected "other". This would allow us to MAP the 'ship via' on orders, and give our customers useful tracking information instead of "OTHER".
Some Shipstation users use Fedex Freight exclusively. We're one of them. It would seem like an easy step forward would be to enable Fedex LTL shipment through the Shipstation interface.
Partnering with an integrated cloud TMS provider would allow you to access carrier infrastructure without the expense of developing your own integrations. Efreightsolutions.com is our TMS provider and we're able to link all of our carriers to provide real time rates. They also have an open API which can be used for rating, tracking, pushing new orders, etc. We're actually looking at the cost to develop our own system, although it seems like it would be valuable to a lot of people. Maybe I can cash in on building "Shipstation for Freight". Hmmmm.
It seems the need for LTL has been asked by customers for years now and its still not added. When will this get added to your product roadmap as you have comments going back over 4.5 years ago.
This would be an amazing feature. We are starting to ramp up our LTL shipments, and to be able to do it through SS instead of the cumbersome FedEx portal would be great.
It would be amazing for us and our clients to be able to use Fedex domestic freight economy rates. Some of our clients use it all the time, and would like to use ShipStation.
Please, please, please make FedEx Freight LTL possible through ShipStation! FedEx is doing electronic labels now. They look just like a standard FedEs label. No triplicate copies of B/L's or anything like that anymore. Please find a way to make this happen. It would save us a lot of time and make life a lot easier.
