The ShipStation API has a "Get Rates" endpoint that allows a consumer to retrieve rates for carrier shipping services, much like the Rate Calculator in the web interface (except the API requires you to specify the carrier).
In the response, the call returns the following fields:
- serviceName (FedEx First Overnight)
- serviceCode (fedex_first_overnight)
- shipmentCost (87.8)
- otherCost (2.63)
In the web interface, it also returns Package (which I'm not too concerned about) and Delivery Time ("7 days," "3 days," etc).
It would help me tremendously to have the API report the Delivery Time for each rate quote, which is already presented in the web. I am implementing a Delivery Time Estimate in my online store based on this information and my order handling time, and without this information, I may have to implement API calls to the shipping service and avoid using ShipStation's API.

Hey Team - Is there any eta on getting more functionality out of the Zapier integration?
The biggest area I feel is missing right now is just actions. If we could find and update: orders, customers and products through zapier actions I think there would be workarounds for a lot of the other requests that have been mentioned by other users. Is this in the pipeline or not something that you're working towards?

Allow specific Shopify Cart Attributes to be mapped to ShipStation's CustomFields. This would need to be based on the key of the Shopify Cart Attribute. For instance, the Cart Attribute with the key of "date" might be mapped to "CustomField1".
Cart attributes are Shopify's primary extensibility point for individual orders, allowing app, theme, and shop developers to add custom properties to an order:

ShipStation currently imports Shopify Cart Attributes as part of the [Notes From Buyer] field. ShipStation, however, does not allow Shopify Cart Attributes to be mapped to CustomFields, where they can easily be assessed by Automation Rules, displayed as part of the orders grid, or independently included on the Packing Slip Template.
By allowing these two related concepts to be mapped to one another, store owners and developers would have tremendous flexibility to integrate extensions to Shopify into the ShipStation workflow.

ChitChats is a new shipping platform available in Canada. It allows us to ship products around the world for a fraction of the price of normal carriers. They are expanding at a rapid rate and I only foresee us using them more in the future. We want to be able to track our ChitChat shipments via ShipStation so we can keep customers updated on their order tracking. Please consider adding them to your carriers!

Etsy Ship By date should import into ShipStation.
Many Etsy users sell home made products that need specific ship by dates as they need to be hand made after the order is placed.
This Ship By date can change dependent on the amount of products a user orders and is ever changing. With it not being static, It would be greatly beneficial to import the Ship By from your Etsy connection.

I have been using Allin1Ship for some time now and I love their service, however, they do not have a direct integration with Shipstation, this, therefore, doesn't allow me to have access to pricing or any additional benefits an integration would provide.
They told me they have direct integrations with other platforms and can go to them but I love ShipStation and don't want to leave.
Now, they are trying to integrate with Shipstation for all of their customers but ShipStation has to approve them first.
As a customer of both, I would really like to see this partnership happen and am sure many other would too.

Deliverr is the Walmart's 2Day shipping program. In order to be competitive with Amazon they are now offering the same shipping times.
Having this integrated with Shipstation would help make for a smooth transition to faster shipping option for Walmart.

Have Shopify's "Additional Details" and "Notes" sections import to different ShipStation fields! They are currently importing to 1 field in Shipstation, "Customer Order Notes".
Currently, if an order in Shopify has any information stored in the "Additional Details" column of an order, that information is imported into Shipstation in the "customer Order Notes" Field. This is the same field that the Shopify "Notes" section imports to. Shopify businesses commonly use the Shopify "Notes" section for gift messages. So, when all this info is imported, you get a gift message + any data from the "Additional Details" column funneling all together in the same Shipstation field.
This causes a huge headache for fulfillment and shipping teams that have to then manually separate a gift message from any other data that the import is capturing.

NetParcel shipping integration with ShipStation to save everyone on shipping costs with all the couriers instead of having to negotiate rates directly with couriers. This has changed the game for our business for shipping parcels, especially to the USA and I still use it, it is a pain having it not integrated. I hope others get on board with this and vote!

Line-items properties in Shopify typically represent item options, such as special instructions (e.g., the text for an inscription). These are automatically imported to ShipStation as part of the line-item's [Item Options] field, which can optionally displayed on Packing Slip Templates.
Sometimes, however, these are used for internal communications between e.g. Shopify apps. To support this, Shopify themes have a built-in convention where line-item properties prefixed with an underscore (e.g., _internalOption) are hidden from the customer:

Unfortunately, while these will be hidden on Shopify, they will be displayed on packing slips as part of the [Item Options] property (alongside valid customer options).
Ideally, ShipStation would either a) remove these when importing orders from Shopify, or b) hide these when displaying the [Item Options] field. (Acknowledging the latter would affect all customers, not just Shopify customers, and thus may be too invasive).

Since many sellers start selling in amazon UK, and shipping with Royal Mail, and Shipstation is not integrating with Royal Mail's shipping pricing, will be a good idea since they have flat rate prices for each requested service, (price set according for each customer) therefore asking to be able to enter my charges with royal mail on each service to be able to see the shipping charges before shipping an order and eventually be able to download a report of how much the shipping was charged.

Can SS enable having more than one FBA account linked to a SS account? We ship products for multiple companies, each with their own FBA account, but can only link a single FBA account to our SS account.

Currently SS does not work to notify PayPal of tracking info and ship status. I am told by SS that they are not integrated with the correct PayPal API to allow this to happen. This is a big disadvantage for PayPal users, causing us an extra step by having to manually update each individual order in PayPal with tracking information. The current integration between PayPal and SS is not complete. SS, please do what is needed to integrate fully with PayPal.
