Make API access an a-la-carte add-on in lower tiers like "Your Carriers"

I understand maintaining an API is not free but locking it behind a higher tier is not the way to do it. Please make API access a paid add-on like "Your Carriers".

Having API access locked a away behind Gold Tier is cost prohibitive for lower volume users.  We require the use of API to integrate with our proprietary software but are now required to spend an additional $90 a month for API access.  
Bronze Tier ($29 + $20 for "Your Carriers") vs Gold Tier ($99 + $40 for "Your Carriers")

As a ShipStation user since 2015 we initially spent thousands to integrate our systems with the ShipStation API.  We have been in business since the late 90's and as such use proprietary software for many functions.  We are basically locked into using ShipStation unless we spend thousands more to integrate with another service.  But spending an additional $90 a month for API access has us looking for alternatives.
