Automation Rules to Batch Orders

My company would greatly benefit from automating batch creation through automation rules. There are standard criteria for creating a batch that could be automated using simple if-then logic. Please look into this!

Hello @jade!

Thank you for posting in the community! We currently don’t have automation specifically for this, but you can process orders in bulk, and ShipStation will automatically create and split them based on your Ship From locations. For more details, check out this Help Center article on creating batches.

Alternatively, you can set up an automation to tag orders that you want to batch together, which will allow you to view them all in a single place.

Cara,

Is there a way to create automation that creates batches?  Example: All orders with only 1 item that has SKU: XX go into a batch together.

Thanks

Hello @AquaticPlants!

Thank you for your post in the community!

A great way to streamline this workflow is by using tags or filters to identify which orders should be batched together. This approach makes it much easier to group and process those orders efficiently within ShipStation.

While automation rules can’t support this specific batching use case, many merchants have found that tags and filters offer a reliable and flexible alternative.

To help you get started, I’ve linked a few Help Center articles covering key topics:
Automation Rules, Criteria & Actions, and Order Tags.

If you have any questions or would like assistance with setup, feel free to contact our support team—they’ll be happy to walk you through it step by step!
