I wanted to make the other users of ShipStation aware of a growing issue with UPS that has cost me thousands.
If you place a UPS pickup request drivers are not required to and usually do not scan the packages when they take them from your property. However this leaves a HUGE security and liability risk for you as the package remains on the "Label Created " Status.
A package can and will get lost somewhere between you property and the next scan location and you will be 100% liable.
When contacting UPS they say drivers do not have to scan and the only way to protect yourself from this is creating a (EOD) End of Day form for the driver to scan. That's the only required scan for them.
Therefore the only true way to protect your assets is to use these EOD forms. Again if it gets lost from you property to wherever it is scanned it will be your loss 100%
Want to know the frustrating part? Shipstation has an area to create these, they have a tutorial on how to generate them but it does not work. only after chatting with support to you find out the End of Day (EOD) form is not a feature supported by ShipStation.
I suggest someone at Ship Station addresses this because not offering an EOD form for the drivers to scan puts a HUGE liability on anyone shipping with Shipstation using UPS and UPS Pickups.
I have to leave Shipstation and use the UPS Worldship now, which I really did not want to do but I cannot afford this liability and continued losses. The EOD form is the only way to protect my packages that are taken off the property.

Thank you for your post in the Community! I checked in with our development team, and they confirmed that this limitation stems from UPS’s API functionality, as this feature isn’t currently available to partners.

We have the same issue. It is not because Shipstation can not fix this, it is more that UPS wants you to use their shipping software. Best of luck.
