Hidden Global Post adjustments are scammy

So I just received a new hidden Global Post adjustment.

I shipped an item to NZ from USA and was quoted $36.85 for 1lbs 9oz (rounded up to the nearest ounce).

A few days later I was notified of a new charge from stamps.com to bring my balance back above zero.

The adjustment service was GlobalPost Standard Int'l. They are saying that the package was actually 2 lbs. 1.5 oz. This is just not possible. I ship these all the time. Never has it even been close to 2lbs. I always weigh my packages using a shipping scale before labeling.

The adjustment was for $9.74 so a bogus 26% increase in cost.

Be wary... it may be time to start looking for another shipment provider. If the cost was quoted this much, I would have gone with a different carrier.
